At least he’s not forced to wear a red star. It’s the reason I don’t shop at Macy’s. I don’t care how long they had that logo, I just get a queasy feeling when I see it.

If the employees are not permitted to wear any type of pins, buttons, etc., on their uniforms, then they may have a point. However, if they specifically objected to the fact that it was the American flag (because “it might offend some patrons”), that’s another story. I’d like to know more about this incident.
As much as I think it is our right and duty to boycott this hotel, it is their 100% right to establish any uniforms or dress codes they wish.
In the meantime, some (meaning a BUNCH) of emails to the establishment and its parent company is certainly in order.
As potential customers we certainly can express our displeasure at their dress code.

The owner will rue the day.....not only can the employee win a eeoc suit, many people will no longer spend their money there
The American flag is NEVER out of place anywhere on U.S. soil. If the hotel is afraid of upsetting their visitors, then their visitors have no right to be on our soil.
