my thoughts on OCCUPY WALL STREET

Posted on 10/18/2011 9:06:03 PM PDT by mamelukesabre

I have mostly remained silent on OWS because I think OWS has been getting a little bit of an unfair rap by right wingers and conservative talk shows. I cannot stand marxists and I especially loath the stereotypical pot smoking 60s era marxist pacifist hippie movement and anything else that even slightly resembles it...such as environmentalism.

But I am very angry about bailouts and banks and unscrupulous trading of these fraudulent securities the banks invented. I am almost as angry about these things as I am the government's role in the mess we are in.

I think OWS is not all about the hippie trash trying to destroy capitalism as most conservatives seem to think. I think that is only one of many factions participating. But I am having a hard time getting myself enthused about supporting the OWS movement because I fear that this current administration will try to use OWS as an excuse to limit/punish capitalism and capitalists even more than it is.

So why can't conservatives just take over the OWS movement rather than denounce it? Why doesn't the tea party go full force to OWS rallies and take over? Why should conservatives oppose OWS and by doing so appear to be in favor of the abuses of capitalism and the meddling of capitalism by government? It seems to me the libertarians are already there at the OWS rallies and you know damn well no libertarian will ever be in favor of marxism. If conservatives threw their weight into the OWS movement, the marxist hippies would be an insignificant minority and would no longer have any say about the movement.

The term ‘occupy’ is rooted in anti-semitism.

The goals of the movement are the same as Osama Bin Ladin on September 10, 2001.

That certainly is one idea.

The problem is the duration of these things. The people of OWS clearly have a lot of spare time on their hands. Many to most all the TP people have jobs and commitments that don’t allow them to sulk in a park under a tarp for a month straight.

This has always been the reason why the left has, until the TP protests, owned the public protest. Alinsky knew this and used it. This is why they target the gullible youth and college vote. If you don’t show up for a few weeks for classes, hey, your professors might give you a bye - because you were doing something “socially relevant.”

People’s bosses, however, aren’t quite so understanding.

I can't picture conservatives co-opting the OWS movement.

We respect private property, support capitalism...and we practice hygiene and like to take regular showers!

Conservatives have their own movement; it's called the TEA Party.

These people ARE everything that you think they are not. The goal, whether these wet behind the ears punks know it or not, is to crash our system. They are stupid punks and are being used as tools.

Really, I thought some intelligence and critical thinking skills were sort of a pre requsite to being a member here.

You want to take them over? Go fer it

Because OWS is an astroturf operation run by adbusters, SEIU, other unions, the DNC, ACORN, assorted antisemitic peacecreeps, communists, anarchists and that crew. They're not going to let you “take over” OWS and you will be beaten or worse if you try. Other than that, good luck.

I expect OWS to grow after we bail out Europe next month and we bailout BoA even more by covering their Derivatives.

“they”? who is “they”? NO one is leading that movement and no faction can maintain control unless we let them!

That’s the whole point of my post.

“Useful Idiots” is the term communists use for those they use.
Once they no longer need the Useful Idiots, they are thrown away.

These are just spoiled children acting out.

Imagine if our grandparents were doing that instead of shipping out to basic training and battle against the
Axis and doing their duty?

Immense shame of themselves is what they should be feeling...

I wont flame you like I am sure others will.

You need to go there with a video camera and try to talk to these folks and post it at youtube and here. You may answer your own question or less likely you may make some converts to freedom. But it would show you are serious either way.

I have no problem agreeing with certain issues against "Wall Street." I think they and the Tea Party can agree that there should be no more bailouts, and that firms should go bankrupt if they are not solvent. (Ahem, Bank of America) I also think we would agree on the rule of law, and that it should be applied to everyone equally, including too big to fail banks.

Actually, this is a good issue to use against Obama, despite his flirtation with these people, because the SEC has be lax in prosecuting criminals, and has even shredded documents collected on these firms.

Obama is hoping that these people are his cavalry riding in to save him, but they could just as easily be turned against him.
