Gov Rick Perry Supporter and pollster for a SuperPAC that supports Perry is the Herman Cain source
Fox News Insider ^ | 11/2/11 | Greta Susteren

I don't know if there is more than one source or not, but, according to Politico, Chris Wilson, a Governor Perry supporter and pollster for the super PAC that supports Governor Perry, worked at the National Restaurant Association and is the (a?) source for the Cain/sexual harassment story.

He said the episode of harassment occurred in a public restaurant in the 1990's and that many people knew about it. What is WEIRD about the Politico story and Chris Wilson, is that Chris Wilson would not or did not say what happened. The only reason that omission catches my attention is that sexual harassment is a rather “fluid” concept. Some actions are OBVIOUSLY sexual harassment and some are NOT – and are merely actions misinterpreted or exaggerated.

Hence I would like to know what it is that people (Chris Wilson) say Mr. Cain did. Of course because Wilson is also a Governor Perry guy, his remarks (accusation) should be looked at with a discerning eye – and it is all the more important that he provide more information about what he claims Mr. Cain did.

There never was a case in a court. If there had been it would have been reported in a legal reporter and it would have been dug out by now. There may have been some sort of demand letter but that is about all.

What would Politico’s motivation be to expose their source? Maybe they think they can get a two for one and eliminate both Cain and Perry with one story?

My thoughts as well.

Hyenas are better behaved!

NOTE: Cain berates those making accusations he claims are "baseless". Yet he and his campaign chief accuse Perry of something in which they've nary a shred of evidence.
Cain refuses to talk about his problems, and one cannot blame him - as his story changes every ten hours. Meanwhile, the current Governor of Texas actually goes out of his way to tell the truth. He doesn't throw a hissy fit when asked difficult questions. Cain isn't fit to clean Perry's Lucchese boots.

He merely came out after the fact and confirmed that he witnessed sexual harassment on Cains part.

Wilson never said that he "witnessed" the alleged harassment. Wilson only said that he was "around".

Umm, because it appears that its just a desperate deflection on the part of the Cain camp accusing Perry to take eyes off him.

Perry’s been dead meat ever since his, “you have no heart” comment...

Thank you for correctly using quotes! Amazing how many people around here don't get the concept.

when he should be dealing with these ridiculous (I hope) accusations in a more grown-up manner.

He is giving them the attention that they deserve.

“Monica Crowley on Sean Hannity just nailed it a few minutes ago. The hard left has to take out Marco,Cain and Sarah since all three pose huge risks to the dem base of women, Hispanics and blacks. If any get traction it means instant hemorrhage of dem voters that have been bought and paid for by the dirty dems. “

Rush has been saying the same thing for YEARS. Much, if not most, of the Democrat coalition has NOTHING in common with the party leadership and their agenda (abortion, gay marriage, a wrecked economy, etc.)...but they hold together because no one on the Republican side is able to pull them away. But if Cain keeps talking his “abortion is black genocide”, the blacks will start to look at the Dems with some suspicion...and may just start to second-guess their 90%+ support.

I think the Dems know that, which is why they’re DESPERATE to take out Cain before he progresses any further. But as we see, it’s a huge gamble to try to do that during primary season.

The pollster requested that POLITICO make clear that he has not shared this story with any of his clients and that he was not the source for the original story Sunday on the two women who complained about Cain at the association.

Of course he did. No one wants to be fingered as the source of this piece of journalistic garbage.

Wilson is probably right, he probably heard it from Anderson and it went from there.

It will all come out in the wash, I'm sure.

If it was someone from Cain's campaign who turned traitor, are you scratching Cain off your list?

Absolutely, If it is true that one of the Republican candidates did an underhanded, unchristian, smear of a fellow candidate, I would not consider him for leadership of this country.
If they behave like that during the campaign, how are they going to govern?

This whole thing is a huge flop. None of the women are willing to come forward as of this time. I am guessing that the media hasn't been willing to pay enough to loosen their tongues. There is no substance to the accusations that we know of. It was a fishing expedition.

The only criticism that has gotten even the slightest amount of traction is that Mr. Cain may have gotten a little flustered when he was answering a flurry of charged questions about a situation that happened many years ago. He admitted that he should have done a better job of anticipating what would be in the Politico hit piece.

Unless they can produce a semen stained red dress from a beautiful young intern... the only thing all of these despicable anonymous smears are going to do is enrage Mr. Cain's supporters and increase his name recognition among the uninitiated.

Perry’s handling of this??? How exactly is Perry supposed to handle an unsubstantiated accusation? Amazing how people here cry foul when Politico goes after Cain but when Politico reports that Cain blames Perry everyone is so convinced it must be true.

There’s something about this whole thing that is making the “We Used to Worship Sarah and Transferred the Worship to Cain in Order to Save Face When She Announced She Wasn’t Running” Squad awfully uncomfortable.

Their usual unpleasant behavior has taken on a more desperate, vicious tinge tonight. LOL
