Gov Rick Perry Supporter and pollster for a SuperPAC that supports Perry is the Herman Cain source
Fox News Insider ^ | 11/2/11 | Greta Susteren

I don't know if there is more than one source or not, but, according to Politico, Chris Wilson, a Governor Perry supporter and pollster for the super PAC that supports Governor Perry, worked at the National Restaurant Association and is the (a?) source for the Cain/sexual harassment story.

He said the episode of harassment occurred in a public restaurant in the 1990's and that many people knew about it. What is WEIRD about the Politico story and Chris Wilson, is that Chris Wilson would not or did not say what happened. The only reason that omission catches my attention is that sexual harassment is a rather “fluid” concept. Some actions are OBVIOUSLY sexual harassment and some are NOT – and are merely actions misinterpreted or exaggerated.

Hence I would like to know what it is that people (Chris Wilson) say Mr. Cain did. Of course because Wilson is also a Governor Perry guy, his remarks (accusation) should be looked at with a discerning eye – and it is all the more important that he provide more information about what he claims Mr. Cain did.

Very nice turn of phrase. Wrote a nasty email to Perry. Romney contact is eluding me. Website only allows signing up to donate—as far as I can see. Tried to email Wilson at his company in OK. It may have shut the server down. Keep getting an internet error.

Have you noticed how quickly it at the same time Perry and Romney are silent.

Thank God for the internet.

Romney has to be jumping with glee!! Cain and Perry supporters are killing each other in a huge knife fight.

Fox News can continue to interview Cain and Perry staff with gotcha questions and nary mention a word about Jesus Romney.

He skates in long circles with one leg in the air, a purple bodysuit with rhinestones, his teeth sparkling with a huge smile. Dick Morris, Ann Coulter, John Gibson, Karl Rove, tossing him roses.

You are missing my point. You said it was a crime. It’s not. Might be civil cause of action, but that does not make it a crime

I don’t think it’s nice to call Herman Cain insane.

I think he could have handled this fine, and it would have been a non-story. Everybody has skeletons in their closet.

Rick Perry and the “rock” story was a form of a skeleton, but Perry’s team handled it effectively, and while it’s still the source of some humor, it had no lasting effect, except to embarrass Cain because of his false attack on Perry over it.

Bachmann had some “skeletons” related to her husband, but she handled those well. Gingrich has a skeleton party going on, but it’s not stopping him or really interfering with his message. And Romney was born with a silver skeleton in his closet.

BTW, Cain isn’t really a “rocket scientist”. He was a ballistics analyst, which isn’t really about building or designing rockets. He was a math major, and has a masters in computer science. I don’t say this to knock him, just a point of clarification.

He is an “associate minister” at a liberal baptist church in Atlanta. He does not appear to have attended seminary or had formal training for the position.

Also, being a Baptist minister really has little relationship to whether you would have a skeleton in the closet. Unfortunately, pastors are not immune to various temptations of this world.

Very funny stuff there.

I guess if Romney is good enough for them-he'll be good enough for me.
But if he picks Cain for his VP, all bets are off.

And yet Cain’s campaign chair is doing interviews where he says they handled this wrong, Cain and his chair are both falsely accusing other people of leaking the story, and Cain’s supporters are running around posting trivial liberal news articles about Perry as if to try to remove attention from Cain. Plus they are all over the threads continually trying to remind everybody that Cain has great poll numbers and Perry is toast.

The Cain supporters truly look desparate, a word used because their attacks are so baseless.

Perry was once where Cain is. Giuliani was once where Cain is. Fred Thompson was nearly once where Cain is.

Polls are meaningless, as us Sarah Palin supporters both knew and were always telling others. The polls that matter are when the actual primaries happen.

I have no idea if Perry will ever dig himself out of the hole he fell into (I always chuckle at that metaphor, if you are in a hole you should STOP digging). I have no idea if the Cain poll bounce caused by “rallying around the attacked conservative” will last now that he’s launching false attacks against other campaigns.

And more importantly, we have no idea how this is playing with the general electorate, which is the important thing. If Cain starts polling less well against Obama, people will re-start the questions of electability, and he’ll lose the anti-Obama mob (those voters who keep jumping from candidate to candidate NOT because they like the candidate but simply because the candidate looks like they can win — they were starting with Bachmann, then they all jumped to Perry, then when PErry faltered they jumped to Cain because of the hype on his debate performance).

If Cain can get elected, I won’t be dissappointed, although I increasingly see him as a dangerous pick because unlike his supporters, I actually want someone who knows what they are doing in the White House. I’m not a believer in “amateur Hour at the Oval Office”.

Breathtaking. Juvenile taunts are a sure way to bring people to your point of view.

There's no bringing you people around. This is a war for the soul of conservatism.

“And yet Cain’s campaign chair is doing interviews where he says they handled this wrong”

It really doesn’t matter. This will be old news in two weeks.

Eventually the media will bring it up and they will be ignored by the Cain campaign and by Cain. “We’ve answered all of the questions regarding the “baseless and false” accusations and we are now continuing the campaign.”

The media sees Romney as their next target and will move on after being ignored. Cain will survive.

Conservatives will rally around him and give more money.

...and a re-clarification from me...

When you are a ballistics anaylst working in rocketry, you are a rocket scientist. The ballistics aspect of rocket science may be the most challenging part of it.

Newt Gingrich actually got more money on Monday and Tuesday as well. It may be that we will find that every campaign had an increase in donations as conservatives saw this as a generic attack on their candidates.

Well, I think it’s pretty obvious who the conservatives are rallying around...based on polls and donations.

Newt has been slow and steady, but he has flaws like most in this race.

If Cain should win the nomination, I’m hoping for the first time we get a conservative VP...I would have loved a Cain/Perry ticket.

But that is out of the question now. The circumstantial evidence of Perry being involved is strong. He has motivation (deperation) and the Cain campaign guy joined the Perry campaign about a week before the story broke.

I’m not accusing, I’m just saying the circumstantial case is there.

I’ll be glad to see the next debate and watch the other nominees try to convince people that Cain didn’t know that China had nuclear weapons lol.

I would like to know the truth on what happened between Cain and these two women.

These stories are not designed for the truth to get out, they are specifically designed to accuse someone with enough vagueness and with anonymous sources so it is impossible for the "target" to defend themselves.

However, if I were Cain, I would demand the NRA release the report of the investigation that was done pursuant to these allegations.

Well the story goes that the Lawyer told the Washington Post that the story was insignificant and he don’t remember much of it that the payment was handled by phone or fax and that he doesn’t remember who the allegations were against. Rush had the Washington Post story with this part then the Washington Post scrubbed this portion. I think that is how the story went....
