It's pretty clear that this Herman Cain harassment story does not have any legs. Of the truly damaging kind, anyway. (Unless, of course, this new employee can provide any actual details.)
Here's what appears to be getting lost in that story. Herman Cain's continuing ignorance on foreign policy.
Sure the initial ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan remark made for good late night fodder. But Cain's remarks regarding foreign policy in the last 24 hours should be sounding alarm bells. And they aren't.
Imagine for a moment (as Joe Scarborough did this morning) that Sarah Palin had said in an interview that she was worried about China as a military threat because they've "indicated that they're trying to develop nuclear capability and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like we have."
Cain said that last night on PBS. China has had nuclear capability since 1964.
Or declared it was her intention to send war ships into the Persian Gulf and get in a shooting war with Iran. As Cain did on O'Reilly last night.
Palin, meanwhile, was excoriated (and rightly so) for telling Katie Couric she reads "all the papers" and that her foreign policy experience was rooted in the fact Alaska was bordered by foreign countries (hence the SNL line "I can see Alaska from my house").
That interview was so damaging it essentially ended Palin's (and McCain's) White House run. One wonders if Cain would even make headline for anything so mundane.
It's true that Cain is not the official nominee as Palin was. But he has now sustained his lead in the polls for so long that he needs to be treated with some gravitas. Outside of MSNBC the media has been slow to shift to

Actually McCain’s campaign died when he hired a bunch of Romneybots who made sure McCain did not win. Just look at the way McCain acted, he NEVER wanted to win. Going around kissing Obama’s ass saying you have nothing to worry about with an Obama Presidency, it was like HE was the running on the Dem side of the ticket. Sarah Palin did ALL the work, busted her ass, McCain just stood back with that idiotic grin of his like he could care less

if you want solutions, not just focus group tested sound bites and slogans, Cain is the only serious candidate.

I don't get the point. Whether Herman or Sarah says it, it is true. China is trying to develop Nuclear Capable Ships just like we have. Is the author trying to indicate that he is not intelligent enought to understand that? Even if he can't, what does it have to do with Herman's capabilities on Foreign Policy?
If these are Cain’s words: “”indicated that they’re trying to develop nuclear capability and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like we have.” “, then it is entirely plausible that he was talking about nuclear aircraft carriers. The “like we have” is a dead give-away.
It’s not a well-constructed thought, but it isn’t fair not to notice the “like we have” if he says that’s what he was talking about. What other kind “like we have” would he be talking about...the kind that float???
How can this be an issue given the current President's prior ignorance of foreign policy? If anything President Cain will have to undo the damage by Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration on many fronts, especially Israel.
Silly to even consider foreign policy with domestic policy in shambles! Herman Cain has considerable experience as a successful businessman; he has integrity, common sense, and a strong understanding of what this country needs in terms of culture, borders, language, and defense priorities.
He will make a great President in all areas, domestic and foreign.
Isn’t it funny? The people supporting Sarah, Cain, etc, are purely blind emotional zealots. But of course, your choice is only the result of cool, dispassionate, observation of capabilities. It’s a little frightening,,,,,/

Correctamundo. Herman Cain would make an excellent president. Mitt Romney would make a decent president. Rick Perry would make a decent president. Ron Paul would make a serviceable president. Rick Santorum would make an excellent president, but he has no chance. The man in the field who is best qualified to strengthen the economy, restore our position in the world, solve the dysfunction in congress, and kick Obama's ass in a debate is Newt Gingrich. If the left wants to get into a character debate, the right will be only two happy to rehash the Bill Ayres material.
How much foreign experience did Barry Soreto have before he became president. No one bit. For that matter, how much foeign experiernce did GW Bush have before he became president. Again, not one bit. Unless you’ve been a vice president, you don’t have “foreign policy” experience that would make you an expert in any type of foreign affairs. I might add that McCain touted himself as some sort of expert on foreign affairs. I often wondered why. He had never sat on any foreign relations committees.
That is one stupid thing that people remember, then he voted for both TARP bills, and then a few weeks later came out complaining about TARP when the details looked unpopular. I dont see where Palin either helped or hurt him as a net effect.
We just don't like professional idols who coast along for 11 years on nice hair and nasty wives.
The best leaders I've known in my life have all had a few qualities in common:
1. They are humble enough to know that they do not know everything.
2. They are wise enough to surround themselves with people who are well versed in their specialties, and will provide candid advice.
3. They are bold enough to make the decisions they firmly believe are right, even if they are not popular.
4. They assume full responsibility for the consequences of their decisions and actions.
5. When they were wrong, they acknowledge it and try to make it right.
Not sure if any of our candidates (or any human for that matter) can always do the above 100% of the time, but right now, of the available field, I think Cain is probably the best fit.

Cain's numbers are RISING. So is his fundraising. Now why is that?
