Club for Growth Blasts Gingrich for Bain Attacks
National Review Online ^ | January 9, 2012 | Patrick Brennan

Posted on 01/09/2012 10:01:52 PM PST by Saundra Duffy

In a press release this afternoon, Club for Growth criticized Newt Gingrich for his attacks on Mitt Romney’s career at Bain Capital, calling them unbecoming a “Reagan Conservative.” Club for Growth’s statement:

Yesterday, Gingrich said “Those of us who believe in free markets and those of us who believe that in fact the whole goal of investment is entrepreneurship and job creation…we find it pretty hard to justify rich people figuring out clever legal ways to loot a company, leaving behind 1,700 families without a job.” Gingrich’s attack was echoed that same day that by the Democratic National Committee, which also attacked Romney for his job creation record at Bain Capital.

“Newt Gingrich’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital are disgusting,” said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. “There are a number of issues for Mitt Romney’s Republican opponents to attack him for, but attacking him for making investments in companies to create a profit for his investors is just wrong. Because of the efforts of Bain Capital, major companies like Staples, Domino’s Pizza, and the Sports Authority now employ thousands of people and have created billions in wealth in the private economy. Attacking Governor Romney for participating in free-market capitalism is just beyond the pale for any purported ‘Reagan Conservative.’ Newt Gingrich should stop his attacks on free markets and apologize to Governor Romney for them.”

Well at least Ron Paul is not out there attacking capitalism. He is out there defending capitalism.

RE :"Actually I was referring to the liberal interpretation of sme events listed by Romney... Like “Gingrich was ousted by his own”."

He was. That is not 'liberal' that is a fact.

The fact that Newt didn't want Iowa Republicans to know that (until the general election) is not very inspiring. He keeps bragging about all his successes 20 years ago in congress but a real success won't resign under pressure.

You don't think Democrats would try to get the next Republican POTUS to resign? They would play nicer than the ones in the 1990s?

>> want to see Newt debate Obama? <<

I think the TOTUS’s handlers wouldn’t let him debate Newt. They’d find some disingenious way to explain their decision, and the MSM would back them to the hilt.

Bad idea handlers. If you do that, Newt will win in a landslide. My guess is the whole anti-Newt push is a coordinated effort of Romney/Obama.

Neither is Gingrich. Palin attacked Crony capitalism and Gingrich is attacking Corporate Raider capitalism via Mitt Romney.

You have no idea what you’re talking about, you’re a PaulBot robotron with little brain.

“He was. That is not ‘liberal’ that is a fact.”

You mean like the fact that you are a Romney supporter.

RE :”You mean like the fact that you are a Romney supporter.

I am a TRUTH supporter.
I don't just pick a ‘favorite’ candidate like you do and then deny (call them ‘lies’) facts so obvious that anyone can find them on the internet in a few minutes, as I am sure Iowa Republicans did before voting. That is called KOOLAID and a recipe for disaster,..

..watching Newt's townhall meetings, I am convinced that he is trying to win

Going nuclear on Romney IS payback for Iowa, BUT I believe he is in it to win it...

You are a KOOLAID drinker. You deny facts that are so obvious that anyone can find them out in a few minutes on the internet, as did Iowa voters did about Newt before the vote much to your distress.

You defend MSNBC maddow and Schulz's current socialist/progressive arguments just because 'your guy' is making them.

Saundra Duffy, a Mormon, schilling for Mormon Mitt Romney - Surprise, Surprise!!!

Oh Saundra, how far you’ve fallen from the conservative in the trenches that you were, to a toe-the-line-mormon-over-and-above-all cheerleader. It would be embarrassing if it wasn’t so sad.

You think Mitt would be a good President.

Really that says all we need to know about your opinion...

Asked whether Romney’s corporate takeover experience at Bain Capital would be a liability, Santorum said: “I’m not making it a liability. I believe in the private sector.
Rick Santorum declines to hit Mitt Romney on Bain

Unlike Maddow, Schultz and you-know-who.

I’m not distressed at all. I said a year ago that it would either be Palin or it would be Romney.

I pray I’m wrong...but Gingrich is the only conservative that can beat Romney and it is a long shot, but it is our best shot.

If Santorum comes out of SC and Florida a winner then I’ll support him, but I don’t see it happening. Gingrich is only a few points behind Romney in SC and he will win there.

Quit supporting Mitt Romney, this is a conservative website. Get off his couch.
