Either Rush has a powerful market or he doesn’t. The real problem the left has is that the people who really contribute to our economy are Rush supporters in very significant numbers. Leftist emotions and this utter nonsense over Fluke are about as valuable as farts in church. The key is to stay focused and keep the pressure on the left. This farce over Fluke will dissipate quick as a fart in the open air provided that the conservatives don’t allow the distraction to get us off what really matters.
The problem is not calling this Georgetown, Jesuit school sex machine out for what she publicly admitted she is. The real problem is playing into the left’s hands over this farce. Newt had it right with David Gregory on MTP on Sunday, and Rush has it right today. This nonsense will pass very soon. Stay focused! Smart people will not fall for this crap.

Looks like he is doing no less. HE SCREWED UP! He made personal comments about a person when he should have simply debated the issue. He could have even asked why an unmarried college student wants government to pay for her birth control etc. As a result of doing otherwise the liberal media has had a field day. Do I feel sorry for Rush? No! Maybe if he checked his ego at the door before going on air he wouldn't have gotten into this mess too start with. I would expect some of those “big sponsors” to issue statements declaring that they are NOT among the “big sponsors” Rush mentioned as “begging to come back”. For example, if Carbonite remains mute, that company would certainly become a likely suspect as one of those “big sponsors”. Similarly with Sleep Train and the rest - - all those companies that bailed on Rush have put themselves in a stunning, “no win” situation. They can’t pipe up and publicly dispute Rush because that is simply a losing proposition. No way would they irritate half their customer base that way.
They have to shut up, and grin and bear it.
Ironically, those companies that bailed and are NOT “begging to come back” have to remain mute as well so as not to irritate half their customer base, PLUS “seal the deal” and permanently alienate themselves from Rush’s show. They have to leave the door open at least a crack in case they figure they need to come back.
If I was an investor in one of these companies that bailed I would be livid.

I have noticed that some advertisers who canceled Rush (such as Sleepnumber) have stepped up their advertising on FOX.
The only thing I have a problem with in thos whole sordid saga is the apology.
If you are a host with a world wide audience, think about your comments before they are uttered. That is what all of this massive “show prep” that Rush brags about spending endless hours on is for. But once you say something, own it. Stand by it no matter what.
If the day comes that it does become necessary to apologize, then apologize for your own actions or words, without dragging anyone else into it. “I was acting like those on the Left” sounded like “ ...but they do it, too!”, coming from a five year old.

In the future I suggest Rush lead everyone right up to the cliff, pause and then say ‘you might think that, but I could never say’. Rush listeners will know exactly the idea without Rush using the non PC word. This gets his point across without giving the red meat to the Libs. It will drive Libs crazy since Rush did not say the word and if the Libs try to make an issue out of what Rush did not say, it becomes a case of how dare the Libs put words in someone else’s mouth!
