"Trading hours for a handful of dimes... Get together one more time."

The probable inevitability of such is an aside. Nobody wants to be the one to go into the history books as the one who was the pebble that started the avalanche.

Morrison and the Doors had a much raunchier rant version (by the way his father was a US Navy Admiral):

....You’re all a bunch of f**n idiots! Let people tell you what you’re gonna do Let people push you around How long do you think it’s gonna last? How long are you gonna let it go on? How long are you gonna let them push you around? How long? Maybe you like it Maybe you like being pushed around Maybe you love it Maybe you like getting your face stuck in the s**t C’mon You love it, don’t ya? You love it You’re all a bunch of slaves Letting everybody push you around What are you gonna do about it?.....

The inverted and clipped 08 hasn’t been debunked.
Everything coming out of that POST OFFICE had 1980 without clipping the top edge and dropping the 19.

"was no requirement that I am aware of for a postmaster to replace his date stamp, and many did not" How can he make this statement? We were changing the name of the post office from United States Post Office to United States Postal Service, emphasizing that we were a "service". It was a big deal.

I just can't go along with this statement.I remember our postmaster had to inventory the number of date stamps at our office, requisition that number of new stamps and upon receipt of the new stamps, had to return the old stamps the day after new stamps became effective. To state that the old stamps were still being used years later seems unlikely, even at a very small office as they received the same directives as every other office.

Likely, this form never originated at any Post Office. Instead, the forger obtained an old date stamper by whatever means and committed the forgery.

I know, many people think we are manufacturing theories and grasping at straws, but can any one compare this postmark with others and think it is genuine?

Think about this: A high-profile sheriff orders a team of former law enforcement officials to examine whether the president is truly a natural born citizen and that he has the constitutional and legal right to occupy the White House. Their official report is that Mr. Obama’s documents are shoddy and he likely engaged in deliberate fraud. And yet, most of the American press corps doesn’t believe this is an important news story? The liberal media has become rotten to the core.

BTTT. This is exactly correct.

Got me mystified. Post offices using an outdated stamp NINE years after it has become obsolete!!! Seems to me to be tricky business. In a law suit involving postal receipts to verify delivery, couldn't the plaintiff charge fraud if the receipt was showing an obsolete stamper? Even in small post offices, I would think the postmaster would realize the danger in this practice.

The ‘year’ in the pica stamp is one solid piece of rubber with four numbers on it. No one else’s stamp is ‘80’, it’s 1980, 1981, 1979, etc. etc.

OK, I stand corrected. I was visualising something like the usual 'settable' date stamp.

More of us consumers reading this are familiar with the "settable" date stamp that can be bought from most office supply and stationery stores: such a stamp has a series of dates and years mounted on rubber bands that can be turned by wheels to the desired setting.

http://www.thestampmaker.com/Departments/Rubber-Stamps/Date-Stamps/Stock-Date-Stamps.aspx

"12 years are included on the date band." (The ones I've seen have full four-digit years, not 20xx where xx is something that can be selected on a wheel.)

this is interesting.
There was no draft registration in 1979.

On March 29, 1975, President Ford signed Proclamation 4360, Terminating Registration Procedures Under Military Selective Service Act, eliminating the registration requirement for all 18–25 year old male citizens.[12]

On July 2, 1980, however, President Carter signed Proclamation 4771, Registration Under the Military Selective Service Act, retroactively re-establishing the Selective Service registration requirement for all 18–26 year old male citizens born on or after January 1, 1960

OK so I did get this from wiki

Arpaio says he has found someone to agree to investigate the postal stamp forgery and I suspect it is one of two postal inspector groups...

http://blog.windowbook.com/2009/11/24/the-final-goodbye-to-the-red-round-stamp/ ~ the USPS round date stamp was discontinued in 2009/2010. You might want to review what postal technology was being used at the time this particular round stamp device was current. I’ve seen millions of them ~ literally ~ and doing audits on mailings I simply disregarded their presence. There was no evidentiary value that’d attract a court’s notice. After all, the device wasn’t controlled and secure. Having a different date from the written material really doesn’t mean anything. LIES were usually surfaced through arithmetic errors.

Heck, I've mis-dated things myself. And as far as the missing '19' in '1980' goes, maybe whoever set up the stamp accidentally turned the little rubber belts for those digits to a couple of blanks and didn't notice until he'd used it.

Sorry, I'd love to believe but there's just no proof here.

You should have watched this video before posting such ignorant comments.

Are you trying to tell us that the post office couldnt hand cancel certified mail or hand cancel regular mail with their round date stamp since 2010? Oh my what to do with all my subsequent certified receipts with hand cancelled round red date stamps???

Date of mailing via postmark is accepted by most courts for legal purposes if the letter is received within 5 days(first class) of the postmark.
If it was not valid, why did they do it?
