MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It wasn’t quite Joseph McCarthy waving around papers claiming to know of communists in the federal government, but according to the Palm Beach Post, Congressman Allen West claims he “has heard” there are communists in the House of Representatives.
According to the Post, West was talking to Jensen Beach voters this week when he said President Barack Obama was “scared” to have a discussion with him.
West then said that “he’s heard” up to 80 members of the U.S. House of Representatives are Communist Party members, but declined to give the names of any of the alleged members, according to the Post.

Sorry can’t say. My Faith, and my old dearly departed Mama, would beat me with a big stick if what I have thought of these people came out in words. I have defended this republic since I was 18 years old. It sickens me to the depths of my bones what these freedom hating, American hating bums are doing to us.

I “heard” the same in an email that was circulating within the last 2 weeks. The email named names, and they were the usual suspects.

I agree. It is time to draw a line in the sand about a lot of things. Col. West has drawn one. We need to get out in front with him and not cower in the face of an incoming barrage.
I can tell you, both our governor and rookie senator from Connecticut are full fledged communists... and pushing berrie’s agenda as hard and as lawlessly as they can.
Too bad we cannot have a Joe McCarthy style of house cleaning. Joe was very right !
I don’t think the name of the caucus was changed, since it was founded in 1991. However, I think they named it “Progressive” specifically to deflect attention away from the fact that they are communist in reality. Most people don’t know that communists have called themselves “progressive” for more than 20 years - they hear “progessive” and think “so what?” People would have been a lot more aware and critical of the dems if they had known what was really going on. (Of course, those of us who have been on FR for a while have known all along who they really are.) Communists are always sneaky about everything they do, and even though these members are proud to be “progressive,” I am sure they will scream when they are labeled “communist” - even though they are. No wonder they are all insane. If I was a betting person, I would start a thread on how long it will be before Nancy Pelosi begins one of her endless tirades (even though he didn’t name names, she will know he meant her, since I believe she considers herself at the top of the list).
Demand they define the difference or suck it up and defend communism.
I’m assuming that he means members of the Progressive Caucus of the Democratic Socialists of America.
They used to post the list of Congressional members on the DSA web site, along with an essay that explained how they came to call themselves “progressives” instead of “socialists”. The explanation was, and I’m not kidding, that the DSA was interested in organizing the Black voters, but Blacks were scared off by the term, “socialist” and didn’t really understand what it meant, so they chose to call themselves, “Progressives”.
Back in the 90’s, about the time that the Republicans took control of Congress, the list of Congressional members who held membership in both the Democrat Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, became controversial and the many of those on the list blamed the open list of names by the DSA for the loss of Congress to the Republicans. So, the DSA revised their web site and removed the list and the reference to the dual party membership, as well as some of the essays and list of sponsors from the web site.
In other words, they made the site very boring.

I find this very strange. Given that Goal #15 (Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record—Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963) was to capture one or both political parties, why aren’t they gloating over their representation among the Democrats in Congress?
The difference between a socialist and a communist is that former would love to have guts to be the latter...if he could still travel in private jets and drink the best booze and wear the best clothes and live in the best neighborhoods.
Conservatives are not really shocked that there are communist in the US Congress. We have known this fact for awhile and we know the danger of communism has had on human history.
The problem is about half this country DOES NOT CARE if congress has 80 communist members just as long as that half of the country continues to get their food stamps, free cell phones, section 8 housing vouchers etc.
Storm clouds have been gathering for several years and it’s just a matter of time before all hell breaks loose.
Communism is the BIGGEST economic bubble in human history and it will NOT last without serious bloodshed.
It’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between Democrats and Communists....
Oh a scene from the original MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE comes to mind. Something about 57 communists.
