With Barack Obama in the White house, there is simply no one in the administration to make fun of. Its been a very frustrating few years.
On the other hand, if Romney is elected, there will be limitless material. Romney is funny, you see. The Obamas? I mean, there is just nothing that lends itself to parody.

The last decent cast included Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman and Chris Farley.
It’s been all downhill, a steep one at that, ever since.
And there’s just so much material to be exploited with Biden and Pelosi but instead they focus on boring Republicans.
And the “music?”
“Hes a black socialist, therefore they cant make fun of him.”
DING!! WE HAVE A WINNER, FOLKS!!
Well Communist America Haters are not really funny people so I see his point.........
Its true, the obama administration is a PARODY... and PARODYing a PARODY is tough work and far more than the lazy staff at SNL could ever manage.

Not if you want to live to see your kids grow up, no.
For a time, Fred Armisen was doing some good, somewhat biting sendups of Obama, but that hasn’t happened in awhile.
The NBC bosses must’ve gotten the memo.
Even then.
Thanks!

SNL has been funny, very funny, and edgy, and brilliant. This is off the top of my head, and they’ve done a lot more that’s worked. They got lazy and slid into politics for cheap laughs starting with the very unfunny Chevy Chase.
That whacked half the audience looking for a laugh, since Conservatives are essentially happy people, and liberals are generally miserable.
They used to have folks that could be funny without being political. Now they’re as funny as the table of contents.
Or see your tax returns audited for the past five years.
Nail, meet hammer.
Could you just see a skit that gets together Janet Reno and Janet napolitano? Man I see potential there.
