And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMom’s Kick Ass Enchilada’s.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Benny’s, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Faye’s, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenke’s Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as “home base”. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixty’s, highs in the mid-eighty’s.
Not any more.

I just spoke with the owner (Albert) at the Cyprus cottages.
We’ll get a 10% discount rate under “Texas Cowboy” and some welcome baskets. All cottages are currently available.
The only rub is that they charge yer Credit card at the time of reservations.
They have a community area for BBQ and such with all kitchen apparatus, but it’s sorta like a shelter, not fully enclosed.
Cottages 11 & 12 are handicap accessable.
Set this thang in stone and we’ll git busy!
Damn! You would pick the ONE DATE I cannot attend! I am so sorry I missed you guys this year, and now it looks like NEXT year too!!!!

Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius
I got Hepatitis from those cottages.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided.
Crack houses and Meth dens, most likely.
