Again: US Army Officer Describes Mainstream Christian Groups as Extremists

Last week we reported on the Army EEO briefing that described evangelical Christians and Catholics as “extremists” alongside the likes of the KKK and al Qaeda. That incident occurred in Pennsylvania. Today, Todd Starnes reports that an Army officer at Ft. Campbell, KY sent an email to subordinates using similar descriptions and epithets.

“Just want to ensure everyone is somewhat educated on some of the groups out there that do not share our Army Values,” read an email from LTC Jack Rich to three dozen subordinates at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. “When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values, don’t just walk by – do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem.”

Among the groups that LTC Rich says “do not share our Army Values” in his 14-page email are the Family Research Council and the American Family Association.

There's got to be at least one officer out there who will take this up the chain of command under the category "exerting undue command influence".

I’m picturing LTC Jack Rich as likely one of Colonel Lindsey Graham’s “type” of Army officer. Likely an effete career ticket puncher who adds little of real value to either the Army or his country—a careerist who will trim his sails to take advantage of whichever way the winds are blowing.

The best way to get to the bottom of this is a few, simple questions for the post commander at Fort Campbell. Via the Public Affairs Officer.

1) Is this officer under your command, and is this email alleged to be his genuine?

2) If this is the case, how soon do you intend to relieve this officer of his command? Bigotry, religious hatred and the advocacy of the deprivation of civil rights to American citizens is intolerable behavior on the part of a US Army Officer.

Later I was stationed there taking care of the Puking Buzzards. but Army Values were different then. we trained with respect for Gen.George Washington and were encouraged to do as he encouraged his Army do “to so live and act as becomes a Christian soldier” I don’t know what little red Schoolhouse the infidel Ltc.Rich attended. but the Point—back I was on active duty would not have tolerated his CRAP/And I really don’t think he wants to get in any pissin match with Lt.Gen Jerry Boykin-over whose values are greater.I seem to recall Mr. Boykin once told someone “Our God is greater.” Still true no matter what kafir one is talking to.

Sad: This LTC is on an earlier post that 2nd ID posted in 2012. He was an LTC then, too. Rich was teaching fire and maneuver on a flip page easel. Hell, a platoon leader, at most, teaches squad tactics. He is a fool. The NCO’s are the ones to teach squad tactics, and; an E-6 should be platoon sergeant to an SFC. The LTC is way out of his league as his job is to be a BN CO or staff officer. Unreal.
