” the last words ringing in its ears should be the voices of laughing conservatives saying, We told you so.

I do not think they should be “LAUGHING”. They should be shaking their heads in disgust.
It will next come to a city near you, as Obamunisim consumes more and more of America.

“Conservatives” deserve to lose with that kind of attitude. That’s liberal behavior.
Real conservatives cut democrats out of the equation and build something better.

How could massive federal gov. aid possibly fix Detroit’s problems? The biggest problem is simply that the great majority of Detroit’s citizens are highly incapable of sustaining a large, vibrant city. When half the citizens are functionally illiterate, many are on welfare, and another very large percentage are criminals, how can they possibly constitute the citizenry needed to make a city operate? It can’t be done...no matter how many billions are thrown at it.

Have a good laugh anyways.

Once I may have agreed. But the left changed the rules. Today they have do degraded the common sense of society that it takes Idioctacy level ‘debate’ to reach the American public. So if mockery on a grand scale is needed, and it is, we would be remiss, if not outright suicidal to avoid using it.
Shunning/public scorn is a lost art. When it was in vogue, it worked. It will work again since the ego of the leftist is his weakness.

schadenfreude has it’s place. It is negative validation of conservatism in macrocosm. It solves nothing, but that is up to the voters in the area to fix and they won’t. The best thing that could happen is total abandonment of the city.

Anyone who imagines Liberals will learn from this is wrong. One would have thought they learned from the collapse of communism. But no. Compared to that, Detroit is just a bump in the road.
Liberalism is based on feelings and fantasy, which gets in the way of learning from your mistakes. In the end, they will just blame it on evil reactionary forces and racism.

Not pathetic. For thousands of years including most of Americas, it worked just fine. We were programmed by libs over the last 50 years to think of it as evil...except when they do it. Then it’s good.
Nope. It’s good when done for the right reason. And that reason is to put libs in their place.

So if mockery on a grand scale is needed, and it is, we would be remiss, if not outright suicidal to avoid using it. Freeze the target. Isolate it. And ridicule it.
Time for Conservatives to shove alinsky method right back in their liberal faces.

Real Conservatives must laugh at stupidity.
How else will stupidity ever understand what it is?

Yup. And we don’t have to lie or make crap up either.

No you simply lack the courage to face reality.
Either we do it your way and let the democrats "fix" it their way. Or conservatives nut up and do it right. You might look around. The whole country is going the same way as you bravely do nothing.
The major issue of this campaign is the direct political, personal and moral responsibility of Democratic Party leadership--in the White House and in Congress--for this unprecedented calamity which has befallen us. They tell us they have done the most that humanly could be done. They say that the United States has had its day in the sun; that our nation has passed its zenith. They expect you to tell your children that the American people no longer have the will to cope with their problems; that the future will be one of sacrifice and few opportunities.
My fellow citizens, I utterly reject that view. The American people, the most generous on earth, who created the highest standard of living, are not going to accept the notion that we can only make a better world for others by moving backwards ourselves. Those who believe we can have no business leading the nation.
I will not stand by and watch this great country destroy itself under mediocre leadership that drifts from one crisis to the next, eroding our national will and purpose. We have come together here because the American people deserve better from those to whom they entrust our nation's highest offices, and we stand united in our resolve to do something about it.

The productive decided that while the non-productive might win by voting at the ballot box, the productive would win by voting with their feet. Given current tax law and the build up of federal debt, that option may not be available to any but the ultra-rich.

“The agonizing death of Detroit is cause for celebration”
What a bunch of bullshit.
Conservatives should NEVER be happy any American city is in the shape of Detroit.
If so called “Conservatives” cannot pull their heads out of their asses and offer solutions for all Americans in all cities they deserve neither the respect not the votes of the American electorate..
