Collapse: Obama, Obamacare Approval Ratings Crater in New Q-Poll
Townhall.com ^ | November 12, 2013 | Guy Benson

Posted on 11/12/2013 7:08:27 PM PST by Kaslin

Suddenly, all the shutdown nastiness and intense anti-Republican sentiment seems like a distant memory. Obamacare has been front and center for weeks, and public opinion has adjusted accordingly. Pew produced some very negative data for the president late last week, and now Quinnipiac confirms the undeniable downward trend. One upper-cut to the jaw after the next:

(1) President Obama's overall job approval rating is deep underwater at (39/54). It's not pretty across the board: Independents (30/63), women (40/51), Hispanics (41/47), and young voters (36/54). The telling right track vs. wrong track number stands at a miserable (21/78).

(2) On issues, the president's credibility is in the toilet. He's getting pummeled on almost every single question polled: (38/59) on the economy, (38/53) on foreign policy, (35/53) on immigration, (32/62) on the federal budget, and (36/60) on healthcare. Speaking of which...

(3) Obamacare is more unpopular than ever. In Quinnipiac's poll released as the government shutdown began, aggregate public approval of the president's signature law was only upside down by two points (45/47). Today it sits at (39/55) among all respondents, (30/63) among indies, (41/51) among women, (44/50) among Hispanics, and (42/51) among young voters.

(4) Even as Obama's ratings have slid over the last year, he almost always outpaces the GOP on major questions. Not anymore. On all four major issues polled, Americans now narrowly side with Congressional Republicans over the president. An astonishing shift: Boehner and company are +5 on the budget, +4 on the economy, and +1 on both immigration and healthcare.

(5) By more than a two-to-one margin, Americans say the law will make their own healthcare worse, not better. One-third say it will stay the same.

(6) Delaying the individual mandate tax now attracts the support of 73 percent of Americans, with just 20 percent opposed. Such an outcome would accelerate the law's problems. What will Democrats do? By a two-to-one margin, Americans don't believe the White House will meet its November 30 deadline to repair Healthcare.gov. The public splits evenly on the question of whether Obama "knowingly" lied about the law. But then...

(7) People no longer trust Obama in general. On the question of whether the president is "honest and trustworthy," he's crashed from (54/41) to (44/52) since October 1st. Perhaps this lie had something to do with that extraordinary erosion of confidence.

Your move, vulnerable Democrats. Your personal brands are tied into the president's and are therefore in grave danger. Just ask Sen. Kay Hagan, for example. I'll leave you with this:

Obama's approval rating is now the same as George W. Bush's at the same point in his presidency. pic.twitter.com/JeBvfpbl8Z — jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) November 12, 2013

They do seem a bit down, but they’re smart guys. They know there is danger in overconfidence, too.

RE :”maybe they’ll get the website working, but the prices won’t come down”

Maybe that's the purpose of the minimum wage increase.
And that gay employment provision.

More unemployed = more subsidies. (lower income)

Rush is right about most things, but I think he’s missing the boat on this one.

I'm afraid that Rush is right. Everyone is focused on either the broken web site or the broken promises. Only the Tea Party congress critters are talking full repeal. The RINO's see an opportunity and simply want to, as McCain said almost under his breath on the radio yesterday, "replace it with something else".

The liberals got what they wanted: the Federal government dictating the terms of health insurance policies. As long as that is in place, then single-payer is inevitable! The liberals will take as long as it takes to drive insurers out of the market. All the while they will blame the "evil" insurance companies for raising the rates and gouging.

The Democrats will even be willing to leave some insurance companies in the mix as long as it can be parlayed into campaign cash.

That 40% is baked in. Minorities, single women, and the generally dipshitted provide a secure base for our first anti-American president.

Wait until Hillary runs. The same mindless dipshits will elect her to the White Hut to make history - first female president. Maybe after eight years of Hillary the republic will be in such bad shape we can repeal the 19th and 13th Amendments. (I hope a sarcasm tag is not needed.)

You are wayyyyyyy too optimistic for the Democrats. Not a one of them running for re-election in the midterms wants anything to do with this gigantic snafu, and they sure don’t want to keep it in the news during the election cycle by Congress tinkering with it. And after the midterms, the ‘16 presidential race gets going. Republicans — even RINOs — don’t want to fix this, they want the chance to run against it. It’s like the greatest gift a political opposition ever had.

This colossal failure has no friends at all.

Our country is screwed. Fed Reserve prints money to bailout the banks (buying 45 billion in mortgage backed securities a month plus another 40 billion of unsold US T bills). Immediate debt of 17 trillion (about equal to US annual GDP) plus another 70 to 100 trillion in unfunded liabilities (Soc Sec, Medicare, gov pensions, insurance for private pensions, insurance for savings accounts) plus another 100 trillion in guarantees to Fed Reserves who had guaranteed loans to foreign banks/offshore activities of US banks to avoid their collapses that can spread back to the US. How are we going to pay back 17 trillion plus 100 trillion plus another 100 trillion. The entire annual GDP of the globe is about 70 trillion. No nation in history ever compiled this amount of debt and debt obligations.
Rush got the jiff of it, the US is screwed. Question now is how are you going to take care of your immediate family when the system inflates or defaults.

> Good point, and why I am not confident we’ll ever have a truly free election again. They are using tax dollars to buy votes.

Personally I think the voting system is rigged to favor the highest bidder. Once it went electronic the possibilites of rigging the system became endless.

This will trigger violence. Imagine a father who has insurance for his kid with cancer. ACA comes along and compels the insurance company to cancel policy. Father is desperate because he is under the gun to replace the policy. If the gov is not ready with a replacement policy that he can afford or worst Congress does not come up with a solution as ACA implodes, that father is really out of luck. If his kid dies because of all this bullshit, imagine the father’s anger and what he will do to the ones responsible. When people lose everything they lose it.

Wow!

The greatest traitor the US has ever known.

Dedicated to the utter destruction of everything we hold dear.

And a little over half of the citizens do not approve.

Pretty hard to see how a nation can survive when almost half the citizens pray for its destruction.

The USA under Obama’s rule = Rome II complete with extreme moral decay, corruption, blackmail payoff to terrorist hordes, and rampant homosexuality. Now all we have to do is wait for Brutus and Nero to show up.

The ‘RATS and the braindead have already begun their love affair with Slick Willie’s old hippie wife.

Just imagine how cool they will be, the first generation to elect a black man and then a woman as president.
They will be the epitome of true enlightened progressives. /s

As I recall, Brutus was on the side of the Republic.

But Obama could pass for Gaius:

So much for Caligula as emperor; we must now tell of his career as a monster.

After he had assumed various surnames (for he was called “Pious,” “Child of the Camp,” “Father of the Armies,” and “Greatest and Best of Caesars”), chancing to overhear some kings, who had come to Rome to pay their respects to him, disputing at dinner about the nobility of their descent, he cried:

“Let there be one Lord, one King.”

And he came near assuming a crown at once and changing the semblance of a principate into the form of a monarchy. But on being reminded that he had risen above the elevation both of princes and kings, he began from that time on to lay claim to divine majesty; for after giving orders that such statues of the gods as were especially famous for their sanctity or their artistic merit, including that of Jupiter of Olympia, should be brought from Greece, in order to remove their heads and put his own in their place, he built out a part of the Palace as far as the Forum, and making the temple of Castor and Pollux its vestibule, he often took his place between the divine brethren, and exhibited himself there to be worshipped by those who presented themselves; and some hailed him as Jupiter Latiaris. He also set up a special temple to his own godhead, with priests and with victims of the choicest kind. In this temple was a life-sized statue of the emperor in gold, which was dressed each day in clothing such as he wore himself. The richest citizens used all their influence to secure the priesthoods of his cult and bid high for the honour. The victims were flamingoes, peacocks, black grouse, guinea-hens and pheasants, offered day by day each after its own kind. At night he used constantly to invite the full and radiant moon to his embraces and his bed, while in the daytime he would talk confidentially with Jupiter Capitolinus, now whispering and then in turn his ear to the mouth of the god, now in louder and even angry language; for he was heard to make the threat: “Lift me up, or I’ll lift thee.” But finally won by entreaties, as he reported, and even invited to live with the god, he built a bridge over the temple to the Deified Augustus, and thus joined his Palace to the Capitol. Presently, to be nearer yet, he laid the foundations of a new house in the court of the Capitol. - Suetonius

“Who are the 40% morons that still think he’s a good President???”

Nineteen groups of people voted for Barry. Barry did not win mainstream America. The Dems cobbled together a coalition of special interest groups, each of which was bought off with a promise of getting their own interests accommodated.
1) Union thugs, ticks, and pawns
2) Black racists and people who thought it would be cool to have a non-white President
3) Wealthy campaign contributors and other opportunists who get big rebates in terms of federal grants, contracts, loans, and special favors

4) Naïve youth
5) Communists, Marxists, Islamofascists, and anyone else who hates America or capitalism
6) Guilty white liberals
7) Academics who benefit from federal grants and increased federal support for student loans
8) The entitled class
9) Legal Hispanic voters who want amnesty for their kin and friends who are here (or would come here) illegally
10) People who work in professions or live in communities where intolerance and discrimination by Democrats is overwhelming, severe, and totalitarian
11) Government workers who lack integrity
12) Some homosexual activists
13) The very elite and arrogant
14) People who are pro-abortion
15) Single women who have a fantasy romance with Obama and the federal government, falsely assuming they will help them in time of need
16) 64% of High school dropouts
17) Dead people and people committing vote fraud
18) People who just don’t care about the country
19) 69% of Jews
