Be prepared: Wall Street advisor recommends guns, ammo for protection in collapse

A top financial advisor, worried that Obamacare, the NSA spying scandal and spiraling national debt is increasing the chances for a fiscal and social disaster, is recommending that Americans prepare a “bug-out bag” that includes food, a gun and ammo to help them stay alive.

David John Marotta, a Wall Street expert and financial advisor and Forbes contributor, said in a note to investors, “Firearms are the last item on the list, but they are on the list. There are some terrible people in this world. And you are safer when your trusted neighbors have firearms.”

Just curious, why is the source listed as WSJ (Wall Street Journal?)

Also, why does the Washington Examiner (the actual source) writer act as if this financial guy is actually so worried about a collapse he is recommending ammo and guns when he ACTUALLY is only commenting on the bad financial advice of these end of the world videos that sucker people out of money?

His quote: "In this eight part series I am not making light of the concerns of survivalists. But I would like to review eight very specific recommendations from a recent video, all of which are representative of the financial scam techniques which often accompany such advice. Here their first piece of poor financial advice along with my comments:"

You then have to subscribe to get the comments (a scam in itself).

A scam about how others scam peoples fear- brilliant!

I have some very important comments on this guys comments about others comments...just send me $5 and I will share them.

“Correct. If a publication like the WSJ is saying this”

A publication like the WSJ is not saying this.

The decline of Weimar Germany wasn’t anywhere near a calamitous collapse, and 1930s America during the Depression was a precipitous collapse with little civil or social unrest. It takes an enormous social upheaval to cause a collapse that would result in widespread rioting, looting, and debauchery. It never hurts to be prepared for any eventuality.

Look at what happened to Bosnia and Serbia in the 90s. The absolute devastation and depravity in those countries during their civil war was the stuff of nightmares.

Sounds like you need especial situational awareness.
Just remember, when officials say it’s not time to panic - GET OUT!

Nothing wrong with practice runs either. Multiple routes.

Because I totally screwed up. You are right: the source is the Washington Examiner. I see the source has been fixed.

What all need to prepare for is stock & bond market collapse.
When full effect of Obamacare materializes, the middle class will be further squeezed. That will require more borrowing on credit on top of already record high personal debts. Rich are never affected. Poor may get more health services if doctors & hospitals are willing to work for a loss. Best ammo is good ole cash. Best time to buy when blood runs in to the streets as they say

Any timing will be interesting in lieu of Obama and Kerry's attempt to force Israel into some sort of 'deal' next year...and this nation won't get a pass on Gen 12:3.

We should be hunting down those responsible for getting us in this mess.

Their time will come. Oh yes.

Wrongo Jack

No, no, he's right.

Everyone out there should think long and hard, maybe for a few years, about what firearms mean, what kind would be appropriate for you and your purposes, what it says about you and what kind of person it might make you, and whether or not it is an appropriate or even moral step for you to take.

As it happens I got most of that out of the way between my 7th and 8th birthdays. But all the Paul Bedard acolytes better do sum series studyun.

(Especially before hogging up any ammo I might need.)

And to the media.

"We believe the cities are where the worst of the problems will be concentrated - the best chance for survival is to get out."

Yep, the democrat/progressive/Marxist plantations will be the first to be decimated by lawlessness. Maybe those on the plantation will deal with their democrat owners swiftly and harshly.
