Governor Lepage is no stupid communist. He is an entrepreneur.
He was the owner of Mardens, a chain of lumber yards.
He employed hundreds of people. He is a conservative. He is probably the best governor Maine has had in 40 years. Do a little research on the guy and I think you will agree with him
On most subjects.

As far as Ray Rice. He beat up a woman. He should be in prison. FYI, I am a PATS fan. Put him in a cell next to our thug Arron Hernadez. The NFL cares more about ratings and money. They need to make an example of some of these scrum bags and ban them for life. If he beat up a DOG he would get a worse punishment.

You are so right about the American people and their disdain for moral, and it starts in ME and extends to HI and from AK to FL.

Governor LePage has an interesting life story; I’m surprised the liberals of ME would have him as governor.

All the pro football teams in Maine are upset with this.

Well, there goes all the NFL money from Maine.

All is lost.

LePage is a Republican, no?

I guess Portland won’t be getting an NFL team any time soon.

You don’t know what you are talking about.
Paul LePage is the REPUBLICAN governor of the State of Maine.
He was the Tea Party candidate.
He has a big mouth and is very much not politically correct.

He is famous for telling Obama to “kiss my ass”.
He is the former CEO of the excellent salvage/job lot discount chain Mardens.
He left home at age 11 after being beat up by his father and never looked back.
He has helped many many companies and businesses come to Maine to create jobs for Mainers.
He recently made a push for Maine to comply with federal laws that make it illegal for illegals to receive welfare.

We really really like Paul LePage in our house.

Mrs. AV

Thanks for admitting you were mistaken.

LePage really is one of the good guys. Came from the private sector to make some changes in the wretched status quo that was the State of Maine for 40 years. He has gotten some things done and made a lot of powerful enemies in the process, and he seems to enjoy the battle!

I wish he would run for president.

I’m more outraged that the NFL will allow that killer Josh Brent back in the league, and that slimeball Jerry Jones would take him back.

You are correct about Lepage, I was talking about communists in general, should not have singled out Maine or inferred that I was referencing the Governor.

To: Does so

Howie is awesome. I lived in the belly of the beast (Cambridge/Boston/Charlestown,Brighton/Winchester) for 30 years before moving to Casco Bay in Maine. He accompanied me painting through college, then drive’s home from work - now that I think about it - for 20 years.

Best line ever “When the phone don’t ring, you’ll know it’s me.”

LePage makes the dems very angry because he doesn’t play their intellectual games, try to beat them at their game. He just blurts out the truth, usually offending some victim group. They can’t argue with it, so they call him names.

That’s why I don’t think this was political. I think he cares about women, just not as a victim class, and thinks beating them is cowardly and disgusting.

So, it’s nice to see the dems in Maine get all angry at him. Now what will they do about this one? The guy just stole their thunder, probably by another blurting of his feelings without thinking about it. He actually acted like ... a real man.

One has a bumper sticker that says “Turn LePage!”. It’s so clever.

Anyway - I think LePage is one of the good guys ... and probably better than a lot of the big name conservatives, because I don’t think he sees this as a career choice or a way to be a savior, but a way to serve his state, and take a lot of crap for that. Also I don’t think he’s first a philosophical conservative, followed by his actions. He’s a self made businessman, those are his values, and that means you could probably call him a conservative - but it’s what he already was before naming it, it’s not a philosophy of his.

Enough out of me, except to say ... was listening to the Liberty Amendments last night. LePage is what they founders had in mine ... in terms of growing up, achieving success, then taking time out of your life to serve your fellow man.

Name me another sports league that would have punished Rice at all, much less suspended him for 1/8 of the season. Really, people need to stop whining about this and understand what really happened. The fact that he even got punished by the league AT ALL (which note neither the government nor his fiance opted to do) is actually a pretty major step.

So, what was this Demagogic Party politician’s approach regarding sexual harasser Bob Filner and adulterer/john Eliot Spitzer, for starters?

LePage isn’t a communist but you, evidently, have no problem with football players or anybody else knocking out their 110 pound wives. Interesting.

Now if Ray Rice tweted “OMG” about a gay football player, he’d be in real trouble... dragging his unconscious wife around is no biggie I guess
