Trey Gowdy's Soon-to-Be Classic One-Liner Against Impeaching Obama: 'Have You Met Joe Biden?'
Fox News ^ | Sat, Nov 15, 2014 | Transcript

O'REILLY: What about what Judge Napolitano raised that this is an impeachable situation because it does go against Congress making the laws. Because the President is making a new law. And the new law says that if you have children who are American citizens even though you yourself are an illegal undocumented person, you can stay in this country. That supersedes the old law. Napolitano claims it's unconstitutional and impeachable. Do you see anybody going down that road in the House?

GOWDY: Have you met Joe Biden, is my response to that. So, no. Nobody's discussing impeachment except pundits and commentators. First of all, impeachment is a punishment, it's not a remedy. Second of all, the only people who want us to talk about impeachment are the President's ally --

They know that too. I wouldn’t dream of funding the GOP.

They know we are like so many others, and that they won the election without GOP donations.

It must frighten them.

I donate directly to candidates.

THey know that.

Heck, they didn’t even want to win.

Did they want to win putting that awful Romney in?

Not a chance in my mind.

It would have helped if they could have all agreed on what winning would mean.

It would mean a team effort. I have seen foreigners more team oriented than this loosely affiliated thing called a GOP. If they could have assured Sarah Palin that they would have her back, she probably would have come out a second time.

What does impeachment actually do? Clinton was impeached, and stayed in office. And became more popular after impeachment if you can believe it.

To remove Obummer from office will need 2/3 of senate to vote for removal. That means 67 senators. That means 11 democrats have to vote removal. Will NEVER HAPPEN. Total waste of time.

GOP needs to work on positive agenda for economy and jobs. Ignore the SOB lame duck.

They don’t want Sarah Palin. NOr anyone like her.

To them, (classic government employees), she, and anyone who does the right job, means work to them. And light and truth.

No.

The light and truth people could just ascend. And they have at least a majority of voters behind them, last week’s voters, anyway.

But htis GOP does not want to do any work any more than the golfer does.

They don’t think about what they’re doing to the country. Their wives an dfamilies must be awful, allowing the corruption.

Anyway, we’re praying, and that’s where a lot of the power bhind the push is going to come from

Perfect summation.

Anyone thinking differently is off the logic train.

No impeachment because of Biden?

NO.

No impeachment because of Boehner.

If threy gowdy had said this, instead of the former, I would put him back into te good column (which really isn’t a column, it’s one name)

But as it is he’s in my bad column, as I expect he’s talking big and wimping out just as much as this on Benghazi.

the GOP

PFFFT!

Its hard to imagine Joe Bidden being a worse president than Obama. Much as there is a difference between being deliberately malicious and incompetent and simply being wrong on most issues.

In any event the point of Impeaching Obama would be to save the American Constitutional system by providing a consequence and deterrence to presidents that refuse to uphold the laws of Congress and instead dictate their own law.

Ending up with Joe Bidden while undesirable is of no consequence in the long run if Congress fails to stop Obama from dictating his own law in defiance of Congress no matter how “temporary” it may be the power itself would distory america.

If Joe Bidden does the same thing then congress simply needs to impeach him too.

Joe Biden would also have the incentive of Possible reelection to encorage him not to try and overthrow the American Constitutional system.

In any event its not a matter of choice or desire its about Constitutional order. We will either have presidents subservient to the laws of Congress or we will soon enough have a banana republic dictatorship.

Besides its not like we have a president anyway what could Joe possibility do that Obama won’t do?

Biden may be dumb, and he would be bad as president, but he is not a traitor, not a foreigner, not allied with Muslim terrorists.

++++++++++++++=

If you think Biden is any different or better than Obama, you are delusional.

“And if we throw out both of them, THEN we get our drunk crybaby Speaker of the House. ANOTHER fiasco.....”

I don’t see how it matters the worse thing either of them could do is what Obama is already doing in assuming dictatorial law making authority.

Congress will either successfully assert its authority as to force Obama to comply with the laws already passed or We will enter an age where the legislative branch is irrelevant before a president who has effectively acquired its legislative power.

No matter how temporary or for that matter “emergency” that president may claim his new found power is. In practice just as in theory it never ends nor is it ever the last time. Why after all would a president who can redefine the law need Congress’s law?

Frankly if Obama gets away with this that is exactly the kind of presidents we will have from here on out. The result is an effectively 2 branch system assuming A president that feels empowered to redefine law will feel any inclination toward the Federal injustices he appoints. Not that he would need to being both exclusive and legislator tends to make Judiciary rather impudent from the start.

All that being said this country may be doomed either way due to a culture that values personal pleasure over family. So whether our country collapses legally or not culturally its already in an advanced stage of collapse.

“If you think Biden is any different or better than Obama, you are delusional.”

“If you think Biden is any different or better than Obama, you are delusional.”

That is really not the point is it Chickensoup?

We would never impeach Obama because we think Joe Bidden would be a better president. The only reason we would impeach Obama would be to save the Constitution system of Government by telling all Future Presidents that if they choose, as Obama will do, to defy the laws of Congress they will be removed from office.

Thus keeping them subservient to the law rather than allowing them to usurp power over the law.

Thus the question is not about who will become president but whether or not we will have presidents instead of dictators of law.

Agreed. The only real chance Patriots have is Revolution - cleaning the whole mess out and starting over.

Before we get to that point, however, real pain will exist for the Citizens of this once-great Nation.

I get it. It was a sorry joke I am sure. Frankly I think the entire administration should be brought up on charges.

“Agreed. The only real chance Patriots have is Revolution - cleaning the whole mess out and starting over.

Before we get to that point, however, real pain will exist for the Citizens of this once-great Nation.”

Our cultural problems in terms of the primacy of individual self-pleasure over family poses a far more devastating problem in the long run than our legal problems with the break down of our Constitutional system.

That said if we are able to convince our children and Grand children to return to a family first mindset, and start raising kids again as the center of their lives.

Then the legal problems can be resolved in one of a few ways depending upon what happens in the next 6 months to a year.

If Obama is successfully removed from office and it is proved as a political process thus empowering congress. Then the problem will return to a imperial Washington Problem. Until congress is again divided and Presents take up Obama’s doctoral in-sticks again.

If however Congress caves and Obama has his way Republicans will have to rise up in the States not today but in the next decade, as the States rights and autonomy movement will gain steam taking on the imperial presidency cause as part of its moral justification.

Then if Conservative ever win the Presidency again, the new President will have to uses the same powers to strip Washington of its armies and and bureaucratic mechism to the effect that most federal employees simply quit leaving the Practical power balance in the hands of the already aggravated and aggressive State legislators.

When and if that is done, then his successor who will no doubt try to reverse the changes will have the makings of a Civil war style fight on his hands with most of the armies in our Hands. That there will the grounds for a revolution.

Unless of course there is a compromise that meets half way at which point we have established a framework for future compromises with regional less centralized authority taking on the bulk of the otherwise conservative domestic policy issues. Which of course means partisans will be able to exerciser two votes if they don’t like the outcome of either one.(the ballot and their feet). Everybody wins outside of Washington’s power brokers.

Of course is our demographic base falls apart due to the aforementioned cultural value problem leading to collapse, this country is going to look very much like a Central/south american banana republic either way, as there will be no assimilation power to moderate the Central American cultural tendency towards caudillismo.

the American People will beg and demand that Obama be removed and the Democrats will be forced to remove him before he destroys the Democrat Party.>>>>>>>>>>

Exactly right. We wait and see.

Obama may declare martial law under the Insurrection Act, which is what he wants....absolute power.

The public will soon demand Obama’s impeachment. It will not take much longer.
