Hello all. Sitting here at home and wondering if anyone else out there is spending this evening alone.
On this night of all nights when families gather and friends share gifts and time, some of us are, for various reasons, spending Christmas Eve solo.
Not necessarily a bad thing - alone doesn't always mean lonely. But, it does mean alone.
Check in if that includes any of you, my fellow Freepers.
Well Merry Christmas to all and many blessings as well. Wife and I are at home with 4 cats, 3 birds, 2 guinea pigs and our psycho dog preparing for the whirlwind that will arrive in the am known as my grandkids. We enjoy the quiet Christmas Eves, the Midnight masses and the whirlwind that arrives every Christmas morning. And thank the Good Lord for all He has given us.

We THINK so, but the lawyers will find out... when they find out. He owns a manufacturing business... employees are asking us if we are going to sell it/shut it down. My snake sister grabbed 35K assets the day of his death and high-tailed it back to Austin. She doesn’t know she’s giving it back with possible ‘detainment’ interest.

Almost all of my Kentucky connection is gone after the divorce. I know what that’s like...
I’m so sorry about your dad. It is amazing how people act after a death. Was there any planning ahead of time? My husband’s brother ended up with everything. Long story I won’t get into, but it had to do with gossip beforehand. I am not spending my days fighting people over money. Vengeance is God’s.
All that AND you have to still grieve the loss of your father. I’m a delayed griever. I can’t fall apart while everyone is watching.
Oh lord you do have a mess. Watch out for missing wills to suddenly appear in books, etc.
My family lawyer has a very very very very successful client who did not have all of his affairs in order. He was telling me the story about how 7 years later they are still at war.

I think they might be back once Cruz takes the nomination away from the establishment.
The only thing you wasted was time. Get out and find another. I started dating a girl I haven't seen since high school this past year and couldn't be happier.

So sorry about your dad though....the worst and best come out of people when the head hanchos depart this earth....some become scavengers, others thiefs and some don’t care one way or another.
My sister pretty much cleared out my moms...what she didn’t know was mom knew and already took care for me before she left!..and she still doesn’t know to this day. My sis is a control freak!
May the Lord work this out perfectly for you....

Alone, homeless but not unemployed, parked somewhere on I-70 in Utah babysitting a semi-trailer full of bananas, wondering what the hell I graduated college for. Gonna go walk around outside for a bit and stare at the stars, just for you. Maybe you’ll look too and find the loudest star in the sky, my favorite star, Sirius.

How I feel you. My parents are alive and “well” but suffer from Alzheimer’s and I’m having some serious trust issues with someone in my family who may be lying to me, there is strong evidence, which means also I may be being cheated as well. This has been the worst year of my life bar none because I’d always heard what other families can come to over money but never ever thought it would happen to mine. Devastating.
My sympathies for your loss but even worse for the loss of decency around you. Yes, yes, this is worse than losing the loved one. If they were good, they’ve gone to their reward, but to see the ugliness and unfairness we are left with...
