Hannity had on his show a Maryland Sheriff who is helping out in Baltimore who confirmed that the word he heard from Baltimore city cops was that Freddie Gray was bouncing himself around in the Police van trying to hurt himself.

He also confirms that through their interactions with Baltimore city police officers, that they were told to stand down by the mayor and that they were incredibly embarrassed by it and frustrated.

This sheriff doesn’t mince words and also slammed Obama for a rush to judgement against police officers.

Watch the whole interview, it’s a good one:

A larynx crushing, though... how? That would take a very energetic hurl. And how could the commotion be missed?

That was very interesting, thanks for posting it.

The officer that person is speaking of believes that the injuries occurred prior to being placed in the van, but apparently saw no visible injuries or something along those lines.

At this point, I think the autopsy report should show if those injuries came from a beating, or a fall of some sort, or it they could have been inflicted in the van, or self inflicted in the van.

I think that is going to be a very important report.

I also would guess that cameras are going to be placed in these types of vans and other transport vehicles.

If one of the other “passengers” claims to know something they would be stupid not to follow that up too to try to get more clues, but there are motive questions there as well. And why wouldn’t the “passenger” say to someone “that guy you had back here before you chucked us in? he was throwing himself around like a mad man on speed, you ought to check him out.”

Having worked with mentally impaired I can say that it is possible to become accostomed to emotional outbreaks, especially if they are continual.

As far as energetic, ever read/see what people on PCP do? Just sayin'.

Simply stated, we don't yet know what happened in police custody and wise people will withhold judgement.

When “withholding judgment” turns into “ginning up excuses to not care” then we have to wonder what is really meant.

They have to KNOW that a prisoner hurling himself around like that is not only an injury case but a lawsuit waiting to happen... the police really did “act stupidly” if only by not acting more decisively to protect their interest, oh wait, the lawsuit is not paid by the PD but by the town so they don’t give a hoot in that direction.

Yeah there are motive questions, but would a man being transported in a meat wagon give information helpful to police? Seems like they would do the exact opposite, so I am not sure what to think of all that at this time.

But I would say that GPS data would show what it shows without any sort of bias one way or the other, and the autopsy report should do the same.

I would think that if the injuries are the result of a beating with hands and feet or batons, that would be obvious to a coroner.

I will be very interested to see this report.

If he was injured prior to being put in the van and asked for medical attention he did not get, perhaps when he was in the van, he was banging around like he was to get them to take him seriously.

How will this assertion be proven?

I mean, there were live black witnesses to the Michael Brown shooting, and to this day truth will not be accepted.

In the absence of film and now the delay of the autopsy, we get it was his fault the larynx and the spine were severed?

Even I need something more than blaming the dead. “He said, he dead’, doesn’t quite cut it, does it? Should it? I know he was a druggie, but without the autopsy report concluding he was high on drugs, enough to break his own throat and spine, wth is this?

The autopsy report is very important to stop the out of control conclusions and biases that, in the vacuum, are being drawn on all sides. We need the autopsy report.

I'll admit to a bias toward police vs. drug addict losers.

One can even semi-understand the desire (though not the choice) to riot, given the usual wall of silence that goes up in such an egregious situation. Trouble was, tempers were already rubbed red hot by the demonstrably bogus situations of Trayvon and Ferguson. And they didn’t even bother picketing the police station where it happened, or the mayor’s office... they just smashed, burned, and looted. If you “riot” at EVERYTHING, then guess what, pace Dr. King, nobody bothers listening to that “voice” any more.

That is possible, yes.

The injuries I have heard that he had at this time were 4 tears or rips in his spinal cord and a crushed voice box.

I heard that on Megyn Kelly’s show a few nights ago. I don’t have any way of knowing if those are his actual injuries, but I will assume they are for the sake of discussion.

Could a man with such injuries bang himself for his head around in the van? I don’t know.

Also I think I understood that the van driver had to stop and hog tie him at some point, or at least that is what I think I heard.

Fact: we do not confer outlaw status any more, and Fact: it is not Grey who is bringing the accusations (he can’t, he is dead).

You are a thinker. Scary isn’t it? What a line of crap delivered in the total absence of evidence, but a lot of CYA, at the same time that release is denied of the autopsy report.

Cops better hope they *fix* the lab report— that the report shows lots of drugs indicated, enough to break your throat and sever your spine. A whopper, so far.

Nice try.

Gray is a loser (now more than ever) and "outlaw status" is a straw man.

I can definitely understand people being mad.

I know I don’t want to think in my mind that I could leave my house on any given day, screw up somehow and end up on my way to jail, and receive devastating injuries during that trip that end my life.

I’ve messed up before and found myself on the way to jail a few times in my life, so that can happen.

One thing I would not do though is riot and terrorize and threaten and damage the property of people who were no way involved in any such thing.

I really do not have any sympathy to that at all.

Nonetheless though, I really want to see the autopsy report in this matter as soon as possible.

Not a straw man: it is exactly what the folks who post the rap sheet preceded by a claim of “Facts” are implying, and they know it, but they get cute when confronted.

Incidentally, most of the charges against Grey did NOT stick... take that for what you will....

My level of give a crap decreases with every prior conviction, once your gang membership has been confirmed, or if you’ve been caughth on camera committing a crime ten minutes prior.

Yeah yeah I know, police go too far. But quite frankly I don’t see rogue cops as nearly the threat to society as the likes of freddie, trayvon, fat mike brown, etc...who seem to have no purpose in life Other than to deal drugs, steal, assault, rape, and spawn a dozen little welfare recipients by a plethora of brood mares.
