The Greatest Water Crisis In The History Of The United States

What are we going to do once all the water is gone? Thanks to the worst drought in more than 1,000 years, the western third of the country is facing the greatest water crisis that the United States has ever seen. Lake Mead is now the lowest that it has ever been since the Hoover Dam was finished in the 1930s, mandatory water restrictions have already been implemented in the state of California, and there are already widespread reports of people stealing water in some of the worst hit areas. But this is just the beginning. Right now, in a desperate attempt to maintain somewhat “normal” levels of activity, water is being pumped out of the ground in the western half of the nation at an absolutely staggering pace. Once that irreplaceable groundwater is gone, that is when the real crisis will begin. If this multi-year drought stretches on and becomes the “megadrought” that a lot of scientists are now warning about, life as we know it in much of the country is going to be fundamentally transformed and millions of Americans may be forced to find somewhere else to live.

Simply put, this is not a normal drought. What the western half of the nation is experiencing right now is highly unusual. In fact, scientists tell us that California has not seen anything quite like this in at least 1,200 years…

Until these whiney asses go through a dust bowl, they need to stop their bitching and desalinate the ocean water that is in abundance directly to their west.

there is no water crisis only a leadership crisis.

Liberals have destroyed hundreds of dams to save fish.

Then, if that were not bad enough they let what little water was left go the to sea so save more fish.

Then, they welcomed in 10’s of millions of illegal aliens who collectively consume 1 trillion gallons of water each year.

Then, they yell CRISIS!!!!! when all the water is gone.

You want to solve this crisis? elect conservatives that will put people, and in particular current citizens first.

Water is part of a cycle. It doesn’t burn up much.

The whole country was buried in snow.
In the case of my Southern CA there was never the water to support populations in the south. For that reason before development there were water rights obtained from the north to the river and so forth.
My memory is that Jerry Brown his first two terms in his infinite stupidity gave back the water rights to two other states leaving us always at risk for being dry or charged through our @ss to buy it.
At this same time Jerry Brown also sabotaged CA further by getting unions into government employment and now we have all these retirement pensions for government workers we can’t afford either.

This article should read: ALL JERRY BROWN’S FAULT.

So, it’s been worse?

Meh. Imagine you have saved a bunch of money for a vacation and then your car blows its engine out of warranty. Goodby vacation, hello fixed engine.

i.e. goodby high speed rail, hello water desalinization.

Who was recording conditions 1200 years ago.
Also we had no major populations here then, it took getting water rights originally to even get permission to expand southern California which Jerry Brown to my memory gave back in the 70s during his first terms as jerk.

Ah, you beat me to it, I was thinking they overlooked the Dust Bowl, but then that was in flyover country that the press doesn’t even know exists.

I know; let's raise taxes and increase regulations and then will create a federal cabinet department>

That'll fix it!

I’ve read a few stories about that. This is basically, and obviously, a man-made crisis.

This is how the Limousine Liberals get rid of “those other people” that keep clogging up their roads and beaches.

It’s just a little ironic that they were blocking Okeys and Arkies from entering the state during the last dust bowl.

Remember: "... generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth."

Obama didn't manage to make the seas recede, but he has worked his magic on Lake Mead.

“Until these whiney asses go through a dust bowl, they need to stop their bitching and desalinate the ocean water that is in abundance directly to their west.”

We are not “whiney asses.” we’ve had our state run by “environmentalists” and their principle enabler, Jerry Brown for decades. CA hasn’t built a single new water storage facility since 1979, while our population has doubled. Just like drilling for oil, every time we have a draught, the RATS say well building desal plants will take ten years as an excuse for not doing so. Beyond that, current desalinization technology takes massive amounts of energy, but CA has been trying to shut down all the remaining nuclear power plants which would make the current process feasible. It’s just too bad that the sane minority here will have to suffer along with the idiots who consistently vote for the likes of Jerry the Fairy.

Yes, we definitely need a “War on Drought”, to go down in history with the “War on Poverty” and the “War on Drugs”.

Heck, even the “War on Women” failed. They won.
