It is quite possible to have huge issues with certain aspects of the public school and still see value in the sports programs. To think otherwise is to fail logic 101.

I think not. Elitist wankers want to benefit from an aspect of that which they rail against.

NO, elitist wankers. If you hate the school then you cannot be on the team.

Using emotional words like cry, hate, and other things is simply a way to cast a negative light on homeschoolers.

Blah blah blah. If a group.. ANY group.. disdains a school then HELL NO they aren't allowed on that school's teams.

This isn’t the first thread HG has cluttered up with his irrational thoughts regarding.

Perhaps your education level precludes you from grasping the obvious.

so they don't attend the school but can be on the team

OH does this, too, for all activities. Homeschool students can participate in activities at the school where they would've been assigned. It's totally fair, since they're assigned to that district and are choosing an alternative way to learn.

(I don't know if this is the case in other states). In OH there as an at-home public school option that's free. Now, schools can't force students to attend classes at the public school if they want to be involved in teams or activities. Public school home-school option is a terrific safety valve so parents aren't forced to send their children to unruly schools.

I’ve seen you act stupidly before, Hum, it’s part of your irresistible, limitless charm. But you’ve taken stupid to full retard level in this thread. Did a homeschooler run off with your wife ?

How so?
Folks who refuse to be a part of something should be allowed to pick a part they like?

Screw that.

How would you feel about some folks who figured fieldmarshaldj
was a hell-bound faggot and a nasty socialist but hey, he makes
some really good barbecue so we’ll go on over there and eat.

You wouldn’t mind that?

Let’s look at it this way..

Would you want people on your school’s team who had no loyalty to your school?

If I recall correctly Tim Teboe was homeschooled

You do not recall correctly, his name is Tebow.

"Folks who refuse to be a part of something should be allowed to pick a part they like?"

Simply put: yes. As long as they are PAYING for the local public schools and have school age children, they should be allowed to utilize any part of it they so choose. Period. If you were talking about private school, you would have a point. In this case, you're 100% wrong (though your straw-man and red herring arguments and insults are so hysterical that one usually has to saunter over to DU or Huffing-glue Post to see).

Can't differentiate between academics and sports? Let me help: One is heavily involved in indoctrinating children with leftist ideology, while the other is not. People should be free to choose what they want to participate in, especially if they are paying for it.

So by that reckoning, if a school has an exceptional athletic program but a crap educational one, the children must be “locked into” the latter in order to participate in the former, otherwise they’re denied despite the fact that their parents are PAYING for it ?

Their loyalty need only extend to the team that they’re playing on, not including to the mediocrity of the educational facilities. Period. Only if it were demonstrable they were attempting to undermine the team (in which case, why would they waste their time ?) would your argument have the most remote validity.

So.. they LIKE parts of public schools? Odd.. we never hear about it.

My point remains.. if you rail against and eschew a school.. you have no business being on their team.

Would you want some homeschool delicate flowers on your football team, who don’t even know the name of your school?

I don’t think that would work out too well.

Apparently for Hg, school is like cable television. If you want to watch ESPN, you have to subscribe to Home & Garden TV or Oxygen and all the other garbage too.

And you have to LUV it.

Hg, your posts have exceeded my maximum daily allowance of stupid. But keep it up, maybe I'll check them out later.

Oh, and BTW, my homeschool daughter can out shoot, out fight, out fish, out think any public school crybaby who needs a union-approved teacher to hold his hand through his lessons. She carries a pocketknife to her classes every day, says the pledge of allegiance, and prays in class. She understands economic theory, the fall of the Byzantine empire, and can recite the bill of rights. Plus she is going to be on a public school sports team this year, just to piss you off.

You obviously don’t get it.

Paid for or not, one cannot in good conscience take part
in activities put on by entities one objects to.

It is hipocracy.

If you diss the school, you diss the athletic department.

You don’t get to pick and choose.

Lo.. observe.. the homeschool arrogance on display.

Normally I would wish her well, but after your post I hope she falls in a ditch.

Fine, then refund the parents ALL of their tax dollars to pay for the school and we have no problem. Otherwise, the children will be allowed to participate so long as their parents are POLITICALLY compelled by force of law to pay for it.
