Upon her election to the role of Rowan County Clerk in November 2014, Kim Davis said she felt "humbled" and "blessed." Speaking to the Morehead News, she made three promises: "I promise to each and every one that I will be the very best working clerk that I can be and will be a good steward of their tax dollars and follow the statutes of this office to the letter."
Davis's willingness, or unwillingness, to follow those statutes are now the subject of intense national focus. She has refused on religious grounds to grant marriage licenses -- to both same-sex or opposite-sex couples -- in the wake of June's historic Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide ...
Signing marriage licenses is one of the main duties for the county clerk. But Davis, a 49-year-old Apostolic Christian, objects to having to put her name on documents that recognize same-sex marriages ...
According to Rowan County records obtained by BuzzFeed News, Davis has been divorced three times. When she married Joe Davis on Aug. 24, 2009, it was her fourth marriage -- and her second to Joe, whom she previously married on the same day 13 years earlier. After her first marriage to Dwain Wallace in 1984, she married Thomas McIntyre Jr. in 2007 in between her marriages to Joe ...
Davis has worked as a clerk in Rowan County for more than 25 years. In May 2014 -- while serving as chief deputy in the clerk's office -- she narrowly won the Democratic nomination for the top job by 23 votes ...

Well that is totally a new thing for them.
Thank-you!...Great answer!
Was there ever any doubt!
= :^)
Go read the story of the woman at the well.
A defense fund needs to be started for this brave and innocuous woman who wasn’t hurting anyone.
I have a question about the gay couples who are suing her. Are any of them from Rowan County? I don’t know the answer to that. In any case, why don’t they just go to another county clerk’s office? Most of the local clerks will hold their noses and hand them a marriage license.
I’m Henery the 8th I am
Henery the 8th I am I am
I’ve been married to the widow next door
She’s been married 7 times before
And every one was a Henery
There never was a Willie or a Sam
The gospel has the Pharisees asking Jesus about a widow remarried 8 times... it sure didn’t get a recorded reaction from Him about how immoral that was...
(Divorces still stink)
She does “conservatives” a disservice? LOL, that’s a little presumptuous of you.
She’s doing a good thing. I hope her case makes it to the Supreme Court. It will be good for voters to see the evil in action early. We’ve corrected one bad law and we can correct another. It will take cases like this to get there though.
The so-called right to gay marriage can only be established by legislative power, activist justices wrongly legislating the right to gay marriage from the bench.
In fact, noting that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay marriage as mentioned in my previous post, the 14th Amendment applying only rights expressly amended to the Constitution by the states to the states, not only did corrupt justices legislate the right to gay marriage" from the bench, but they breached the Founding States division of federal and state government powers, stealing 10th Amendment-protected state powers to do so.
She was saved 4 years ago. I seriously doubt she married 4 times in 4 years.
The woman at the well was penitent. Is Ms. Davis?
Question: If the 14th amendment is being used to corrupt the 1st amendment, is the 14th therefore UNCONSTITUTIONAL by default, or are all rulings based on misinterpretation of the 14th void?
How can one amendment be used to invalidate the 1st amendment?
I hope her case makes it to the Supreme Court.
It didn’t do much good today. They turned her down. I am sure the 4 marriages didn’t help her case much. She is a disaster. I hate that we always have the worst dregs of society as our Conservative Representatives. It doesn’t seem fair to me.
Amen
So what if she was married four times. Those were at least real marriages, a far cry from the filthy homo perverts who are grotesquely mocking the institution.
Marriage is the union of a man and a woman for life. It is not a temporary union that lasts only until something better comes along.
If she were denying someone a Conceal Carry permit because of her religion, how would you feel?
It did. The court refused to hear it.
So I should not support this woman?
So I should not have voted for Reagan?
She’s practically the only one standing up to this deviancy, I’m not about to toss her overboard. Just her brave stand here renders her (pre-Christian) past incredibly moot.
She is one brave lady!
