George Will: Candidate Trump Will Soon Become One of the ‘Losers’ He Constantly Mocks
National Review ^ | 09/28/2015 | George Will

Posted on 09/28/2015 7:09:12 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

America’s loopy Left is enamored of someone who becomes cranky about bobblehead figurines. Sober Democrats are queasy about nominating Hillary Clinton, who has much to apologize for but no aptitude for apologies. Those Republicans who hope she is denied the nomination are perhaps imprudent. And even Republicans who recoil from Donald Trump’s repulsiveness might want to defer the delicious pleasure of witnessing his apoplexy when he joins, as surely he will, the ranks of those he most despises — “losers.”

In 2011, Bernie Sanders said “we’ve got some very, very serious problems” because the Founding Fathers bobbleheads sold at the Smithsonian Museum of American History were made in China. He exclaimed: “A museum owned by the people of America — a museum which talks about our own history — cannot even have products manufactured in the United States by American workers?” In a hilarious video assembled by the high-spirited folks at Reason.TV, Sanders summons Smithsonian officials to his office to grovel and promise to mend their ways. Sanders’ wrath did not produce a complete purge: The museum still sells imported gimcracks.

Clinton, who could lose to Sanders, might actually think she apologized concerning her private e-mail server. What she said (really: parse her ABC interview) was that she should have been clearer and quicker in explaining why she has nothing to apologize for. Joe Biden may be one of those knickknacks that look better in the store window than in your living room, but he probably would be a stronger nominee than Clinton, whose campaign operatives believe, oxymoronically, that she should adopt a policy of spontaneity. Some operatives thought it shrewd to share this calculation with the New York Times, which headlined its scoop “Hillary Clinton to Show More Humor and Heart, Aides Say.”

Is National RINO Review anti-Trump?

Just ask Rich Louserly.

When asked whether the forced deportation of 11 million illegal immigrants — almost as many people as passed through Ellis Island in 60 years — might take five or even ten years, Trump scoffed: “Really good management” will get this done in at most two years. To meet a two-year deadline, his “management” wizardry will have to quickly produce a network of informers to assist at least 100,000 new law enforcement officers equipped with battering rams and bloodhounds.

Had George Will been opining publicly in 1961: "To put a man on the moon in a mere nine years when our space program is mired in recent failures and stagnation would require divine intervention and the direct assistance and, indeed, leadership of the more successful Soviet space agency. In truth neither of these is likely. When pressed Mr. Kennedy offers no explanation how he will achieve this unlikely scenario. This is a policy of wishful thinking and excessive optimism, some might say naivete, and ought to be set aside. The President ought instead be putting his energy and that of the nation behind more fruitful endeavors which are actually achievable, such as detente with the Soviets and negotiation of removal of our missiles from Turkey."

Like Will, the "loosers" abound. major irritations are the 90% of wise posters who get the word "its" wrong. Year after year.

Or how about the misuse of "effect"? "I don't think the debates really effect elections."

Or how about the misuse of "inferred"? "When Trump said he didn't want to look at Carly's face he inferred she is ugly."

Or how about the use of commas for plurals? "No more Bush's, no more Clinton's."

These are irritating, but I do enjoy seeing them in posts where the poster is discussing how stupid someone else is.

Trump's a hell of a lot smarter than George Will.

Trump has proven the brilliance of his mind, his vision, and his puissance.

Will is just another mediocre man of small mind. Such men dominate the news media. They're no match for greatness, and they are too mediocre to know it.

I see George is still flailing his arms in a perpetual temper tantrum. He should take a valium daily and shut up for about six months.

George Will was really great back in the 1980s on the David Brinkley show and in his columns. Will was cutting edge during the Ronald Reagan era and even for 15-20 years afterwards.

BUT TODAY — George Will would pick Jeb Bush way over Donald Trump which is sheer idiocy. Jeb is for losers. Who want to live in a loser nation. But Will has gotta be worth 3-10 million by now so he is all set. Will is not impacted by illegal immigration and third worlders flooding into America. Will is not impacted by the dumb ass trade treaties we sign

Sanders is 'real' too... George Will doesn't like him either...

LOL.

If a medical school ever wanted, for training, someone to play the part of a man who had a terrible anal impaling accident, George Will is made for the part.

I have offered several time to help make it a REAL database and search engine... Hopefully they will take your code and do something with it

I am worried JimRob will take the keys to the kingdom with him when he goes to his great reward (Hopefully MANY MANY years from now, JimRob!) and leave FR to its demise too...

Look at stupid sites like “MoveOn.org” they make MILLIONS - You would think the most powerful FREEDOM loving site would be able to go commercial without “selling out to ‘da man’”

We like capitalism here, after all.

I don't view it so much as stupidity, but more carelessness, and indifference to their language.

Maybe it's an irrational obsession with "cool."

Or cell phone "zombie" syndrome.

I was a George Will fanboy 2 decades ago, but these days, he is just way, way off, almost all the time. Sad.
