Exclusive– GOP Campaigns Agree to Cut RNC Out of Debate Process, Negotiate Directly with Networks
Breitbart ^ | Nov 1, 2015 | Matthew Boyle

The 2016 GOP presidential campaigns agreed on Sunday evening to cut the Republican National Committee (RNC) out of the debate negotiation process and instead deal directly with networks moderating debates, Breitbart News has learned.

Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager for frontrunner Donald Trump, confirmed to Breitbart News via phone on Sunday that the “biggest consensus” of five separate points the GOP campaigns agreed on was cutting the RNC out of the negotiations with the networks, as the campaigns would each like to negotiate with the networks directly.

In response to the revelation that the RNC will be cut out of the process, RNC chief spokesman Sean Spicer—the party’s point man on handling debates until now—said the RNC stands ready to help the candidates in any way they can.

Even though Carson is in second, the press is writing it up like, ‘Carson, who leads with Trump’ - like Trump’s in second (distant second).

Good for them as the rino GOP is allied with the communist left wing scums of DC and has stepped all over the Conservatives of America in their ignorance, arrogance, pride and hateful stupidity.

Conservatives need a conservative party that excludes the dem rino parties and stands on conservative priciples only. I can no longer vote for rinos anywhere as the lesser of two evils is as evil as the most evil communist.

Does any of us think this would be going on if not for Trump? Trump is needed by this country to get it back on track. We need jobs and business back in USA and he can do that. If all of these candidates work together we can get back R party and R country. Trump knows how to make deal and get job done…….he has proved it over and over.

The RNC has previously decreed that any candidate participating in an unsanctioned debate is barred from further sanctioned debates.

The candidates have declared that they will not participate in any sanctioned debates by the RNC.

The RNC is now impotent.

"Gingrich and Cain did it once last time, and it was great, but it did not catch on that cycle."

Position has a lot to do with it this time. When Gingrich and Cain did it they were behind in the polls and the establishment candidate, Romney, was at the top. So the establishment and their friends in the media could always threaten to not let the lower tier candidates into the debates. This time it is the front runners objecting and the establishment candidates running at the back of the pack. Nobody is going to watch a GOP debate without Trump, Carson, Rubio and Cruz on the stage.

Basically the will of the GOP establishment can be ignored because their chosen candidates are already being ignored by the electorate.

"I nominate Jeff Kuhner for moderator!"

I am about to turn on the Kuhner Man for a listen.

However.... We have to distinguish Between A Moderator and the Distinguished Panelist

Many people could be the Moderator that quite frankly almost boring, aka Brain Lamb, even Bill Bennett. Comity, being a gracious host, and keeping the candidates on task, time-wise and argument wise.

The Panelist asking the questions is where the rubber meets the road, aka the Mark Levin's, Dr Thomas Sowell's and the Kuhner man need to be...

If they are all a part of this, what is or can the RNC do?

Images for lead follow or get out of the way... At this point the RNC needs to get out of the way... They had their chance and they kissed the butt of the MSM...

I nominate Jeff Kuhner for moderator!

Who needs moderators? Only need a time keeper. Allow a certain time to expound on a certain subject, say 3 to 5 minutes. No counterpoints by those named and 1 minute rebuttal time. If a candidate goes over his allotted time, it comes off their 2 minute closing argument time.

Throw your name in contention as a moderator, and watch how many people back you.

“Does any of us think this would be going on if not for Trump?”

Yes, it would be going on. Cruz lit the fire, said the debates should be led by those who vote Republican, not the liberal media, and they all combined to do something about it.

Laws regulate how the election process works, including how candidates sign up to run for election, how elections are held and how the national convention elects the final candidate.

Slight clarification/correction: the party, not laws, make up the rules for the nomination process. The party governs who gets its nomination. It is not governed by laws.

No, I think moderators are needed to keep the debate on track.

But their questions or topics should be open ended. This “Our economy is X, the rates of this are y, Z people are out of work “ fake facts before the question “what are you going to do to fix that?” It’s so stupid. Instead, say something like “This next segment is going to be on the economy. We’ll go down the line. Your approach as President to the economy of the United States, both general philosophy and specific influences your Presidency could have. You’ll each have 4 minutes, and afterward everyone will have two more minutes to rebut if wished.”

And if someone really does take unfair advantage, they should be warned and then cut off after egregious behavior. Which I wouldn’t expect.

I definitely would like to see more forest questions and less trees. I know a lot of other voters might want more specifics but I would also like to hear their economic philosophies, their thoughts on the geopolitical state of the world. I bet some of those differences are huge. I also would like our moderator to be a Constitution Believer. I’d like him or her to keep modifying the questions as I did above, noting that there is only so much we even WANT our President, as a Representative of the People, to BE ABLE TO DO. We forget we aren’t electing Santa Claus or a king. Most Presidents you aren’t going to like. You don’t WANT them to have much power.

[In my home away from home, Switzerland, their President rotates among their top 7 leaders, and it is solely a decorum position.]
