Sorry, but any whoever donated to the Clintons and hung out with then, will NEVER get my vote. NEVER. I can not trust them.

Fair enough. I guess you don't have any concerns about the head of one of Cruz' PAC being a major open borders billionaire. Will you trust Ted when he and the other big money donors come around to get their favors? Oh, let me guess, they're just giving to Cruz because they believe in limited govt and the Constitution.

we will fight the battle at a time and place of our choosing

we will not permit the charge of the light brigade into the valley of death

does that mean you're for Trump or against him? I do like those words, though.

Wishful thinking isn’t ideology.

I’ve read his site. I don’t trust him. That simple.

Based on where we are now - NO, he did not succeed in the long term.

It takes constant vigilance and no one truly ever took up his mantle.

Those are the ones that say "we have to work together" to "get things done". Blah, Blah, Blah. Most of it is crap and then they spend twice the money "fixing" what they turned into crap.

And Reagan may have worked with others but he also didn't mind being hated by his enemies. Something I like.

Yes, and I can't foresee a circumstance where Trump will be intimidated by any of them.

I'm sure you're one of those elegant "Principled Conservatives" and as a mere Trump supporter I wouldn't dare try to debate you.

sort of makes your head spin, doesn't it?

Not any more. Whenever they do anything or do nothing, say anything or say nothing I just assume they are betraying the American people. It is not longer an action. It is a state of being for them.

I’m just a barefoot bacon loving trump supporter so I wouldn’t even try to answer all those beautiful “Principled Conservative” words you wrote. good job, though.

Naaah. I don’t like to flame. Just poke fun.

My personal belief is that DT is going to run the table. I also think that the emphasis should be on the person who can accomplish the most should they be elected. I’ve never argued that DT is the most conservative person running, because he clearly isn’t. What I care about is who can move a conservative agenda forward. Ted Cruz might be 95% conservative, but if he can only accomplish 5% of what he sets out to do, then that’s a loss compared to someone who is only 60% conservative but overperforms and actually gets that 60%. And that’s what the choice boils down to in my view.

I know that place. It took a lot of hard lessons for me to get there. Never going back.

I believer in the Constitution and limited government. I support Trump and haven't changed or altered a single value.

One of the things that Trump has taught us is that you don't have to negotiate with the other side. If you don't like the deal, if you can't live with it, walk. Since when have our so-called conservative representatives just up and walked out on Obama to force a conservative position.

The full court press by the Cruz crew is on as he starts to sink in the polls. Cruz is desperate. He is calling in all his chips including those phony conservatives from National Review. These attacks will help Trump grow stronger.

So “principled conservative” is a pejorative now, is it? Tell me, are the Founders still welcome on FR or are they also not worthy of Trump?

Trump is a skilled pugleisyt of the media and political correctness rolls off his back like water. Hard not to like him for both. But I don’t see anything else motivating his adherents and I most certainly don’t see much critical analysis. It’s almost all blind faith and wilful disregard.

If I vote for Trump, it will be with the clear expectation that I’m voting for Leftist SCOTUS appointments, the end of the 2nd Amendment, and maybe a wall, maybe. Sanders or Clinton would be worse, but the end of the Republic either way.

Have you read any of his books? The books tell a lot about Mr. Trump. A lot more than posts, posted here.

It took a lot of hard lessons for me to get there.

What saddens me is that one of my more cynical friends told me how the republicans in congress were going to go after the Gingrich revolution gave them a majority. He was right then, and it has only taken me 20 years to catch up with his view.

Well, Expect away, just vote for him. As far as principled conservative being a pejorative, it is in my book. Most of the people I encounter using it do so with an air of superiority and condescension. To transmit the idea that they, with their unparalleled understanding and dedication to the constitution, are the only ones fit to take the reins of the republic.
