Reuters Poll: Trump’s Support Jumps to 40 Percent
Reuters via Breitbart ^ | 01/22/15 | Neil Munro

A new Reuters poll of Republicans shows that GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has expanded his national lead over rivals since his Jan. 19 endorsement by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

The new poll of 2,508 Republicans, taken over several days, showed Trump at 40 percent and Cruz sharply down to 10.5 percent. That's a 29.5-point margin.

Reuters' Jan. 19 results showed Trump at 33 percent to Cruz's 16 percent, which was a 17-point margin.

The Reuters poll is here, and can be adjusted to show the candidates' popularity among various subgroups. For example, Trump scored 38.4 percent among marrieds, 39 percent among people with an income of $50,000 to $70,000, 37 percent among people who earn above $150,000, and 36 percent among people older than 60.

We'll see what happens with the voters. Surprises happen both ways.

Wake up, its over. Cruz is fading and is losing even more ground in SC and NH. Trump right now would blowout Cruz on Super Tuesday. This how it is going to play out. Cruz will lose Iowa, lose SC, lose NH and then the money will dry up for him and soon after his candidacy will fizzle out to a whimper. After Super Tuesday, he drops out. There will be no miracles for Cruz. You guys have to really face reality here. Trump has crossover appeal, bring back those Reagan Democrats and really blow the doors of Hillary or that slobbering old joke Sanders.

Oh well, I hope most of them come to their senses and start fighting against whoever the evil party nominates. I still don't mind Cruz, but those supporters of his that get so maniacal. Blech.

But..but...we just don't want to see a pseudo-conservative, Clinton loving.... That freaking meme is devoid of intelligence, pragmatism and sanity. Some idiots here are actually saying they will not vote AGAINST Hillary Clinton in the general. Same ideologues who gave us Obalameo..yes you, you purist morons. You did this, you stayed home in 2008 and 2012, because Obama's challenger was not enough of this or that for you. This is a quantitative fact, not even debatable. When John Bircher Republicans get all fanatical look out. Its all or...I'll retire with my rifle and my Bible to my cabin Idaho.

"It would be hilarious if it ends up being Trump/Cruz 2016 even after all of this battling."

It happened in 1960 when JFK selected LBJ, and LBJ only begrudgingly accepted.

Guess what ! LBJ joined on VP - soon was President. hmmm

Did I hear somewhere that LBJ was *forced* on JFK — like it seems GoPee does force their will on Pres Candidates.
[listening to conspiracy types]

And *gov type* people who offed JFK - well, did they have this in mind a year or so earlier ?????

Reagan vs Bush in the primaries became Reagan/Bush in the White House. Steel sharpens steel.

The Kennedys loathed LBJ, but JFK put him on the ticket. Political strategy trumps (pun intended) personal considerations when it comes to winning the White House.

I would not be surprised to see Trump’s arm around Cruz’ shoulders on the stage at the RNC. Those two combined could occupy the WH for the next 16 years.

Trump likes surprises and media. Don’t count out a hugely popular pick who is also a non-politician.

Hey, it worked out so great the last time she teamed up with a liberal, maybe the second time will make it happen for her?

Trump is the most conservative candidate on immigration and the Second Amendment we've had in ages. If you want to know how right wing Trump is praise him in front of a liberal.

You'll get an earful.
