Trump Disavows David Duke Endorsement
The Hill ^ | Sunday, February 28, 2016 | Rebecca Savransky

Posted on 02/28/2016 10:34:00 AM PST by kristinn

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump disavowed white nationalist and former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke in a tweet Sunday.

"As I stated at the press conference on Friday regarding David Duke- I disavow."

Earlier Sunday morning, Trump avoided a question about whether he'd condemn Duke's racism.

The GOP front-runner said on CNN's "State of the Union" he didn't know anything about Duke and would need to research his connections before deciding whether he would condemn them.

"I have to look at the group. I don't know what group you're talking about," he said. "You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about."

“How hard is it to say “I disavow the KKK?”
Hank”

Well hank, I know they play checkers down at Druckers store, but there is another game called “chess”. YOu have to think ahead there.

The next question is “but the KKK is very much against illegal immigration, doesn’t that make you natural allies? Arent you naturally in agreement with anything the KKK says?”

Trump saw it coming a mile away and moved the interview where he wanted it to go.

David Duke is a perennial punching bag. He is an obscure person that the media has elevated in to a seemingly superman with unlimited powers. I care far more about what Obama’s advisers and friends think. And they are active racial supremecists and criminals. Al Sharpton, Louis Frakhan, La Raza, NBPs, BLM. On and on. But we all know only whites can be racist.

This is such a non-issue.

Two of Trump’s grandchildren are Jewish and he encouraged her daughter to marry a Jewish man.

Another NOTHING BURDER served up by the MSM.

And look over on Huffington Post — they are jumping all over this.

Trump is the nominee and will be the next POTUS.

Deal with it.

“This is just another media distraction.”...........

We can expect a lot of this type diversion as the demodummies and in particular the RNC does everything they can to derail Trump. Personally, I do not see their tactics working but one should “never say never”.

A funny response, and if one thinks of it as a clothing concept kind of disturbing. But for someone running for president United States it’s something that should be known even if you are just a poor rural businessman from New York who didn’t know no better. And yes that was sarcasm

Hank Kimball has a better chance of being POTUS than Donald Trump. You’ll see in the Fall.

And I’ll be laughing my ass off.

Hank

Cruz likely knew all this, and just wanted to taint an opponent using false association / false witness.

Your question in as much as it might be one is a non-sequitur as the birthplace and life of Ted Cruz was well discussed before we here in Texas voted him in as Senator

But Obama doesn’t have to disavow Black Lives Matters — three days after 2 of its supporters beat unconscious a highly-decorated Marine in a McDonalds just blocks from the White House.

Exactly.

The KKK doesn’t exist any more. There may be a couple dozen nuts spread around the entire country, but someone joked about a Klan meeting being mostly comprised of law enforcement.

Duke is always trying to keep his face in the news and stay relevant (he sells books or whatever to survive instead of working at a real job).

This is a chance of guilt by association.

Meanwhile, Hillary and Bernie ‘embrace’ Black Lives Matter and they are out being white people (the recent white vet that was beat up) and having actual riots.

Real violence and riots = embrace and endorse.

Irrelevant white guy making a buck = must ‘repudiate.’

Trump defeated the ‘apology game’ they play with Republicans by NOT apologizing.

This is the repudiation game.

Did Obama repudiate his pastor, the black Muslims (who say white man is the devil), the communist groups that endorsed him? Was he ever asked to?

-- That was probably a Democrat group building negative press. --

Doesn't look like it, at least not by any outward appearance. This group has been around for a decade, and is openly white supremacist.

Johnson says the call isn't a false-flag operation devised by Trump's opponents to smear the candidate's reputation of public perception. The organization, he says, is earnest in its support.

Later parts of the linked article impugn Trump for not being forthcoming with a particular disavowal.

Of course Trump disavowed the KKK! That’s a no-brainer.

But Trump’s opponents have been running with the alleged Trump-KKK connection big time, at the same time that many of us were in church, and not indulging in politics!!!!

Why weren’t the anti-Trump types in church, where they belonged? Them this anti-Trump non-news item would never have seen the light of day!!

You can't hold people responsible for endorsements they never sought out, unless of course they are Donald Trump.
It's not the endorsement, it's Trump's equivocation about it.

But Trump's gonna build a YUUUUGGGGEEE Wall! Woot-Woot!

Yeah, except the "association" isn't one. Anybody who claims Trump "associates with" or "identifies with" this group is a dirty rotten liar of the first order. It's plenty fair to make Trump own what HE says, but it is dishonest to the core to make him own what others say, even if they align with Trump's nationalist position.
