Donald Trump was the clear favorite in todays winner-take-all Arizona primary, even before the Brussels terrorist attacks. The immigration issue and the flood of early voters favors him, as does the fact that some of those early voters will have cast ballots for Marco Rubio before he dropped out last Tuesday night. If they had known Rubio would no longer be a candidate, many of those voters might have gone with Cruz.
But polls have been tricky and often erratic this year (think Michigan and the surprise win of Bernie Sanders). For example, the latest poll showing a 14 point Trump lead appears to oversample Phoenix voters (59 percent of states population vs. 73 percent of those polled). Trump outperfoms his statewide average in the Phoenix area. The Washington Post reports that Cruz could definitely score an upset in Arizona. If that happens or Cruz comes very close here will be the relevant factors, according to the Post.
Cruz has a superior ground game. Neutral observers say his team is a lot more organized than Trump. His state director elected many Republican members of the legislature.
Its a closed primary, meaning only Republicans can vote. Trump has struggled in closed primaries.
Cruz has scored a bunch of late endorsements: Rep. Matt Salmon announced his support last night.
Cruz is still perceived as strong on border security.

And together the states constitute a national election on that day, but however you choose to term it, the point stands.
If there is a crash back to reality I will be one who will admit it.
Will you admit you were wrong if Trump wins and this country starts winning again?
The establishment won’t give it to Cruz because they know he’s a fraud.
dware
I think the point he was trying to make is that you are making bold predictions based on something other than quantifiable facts. That puts your argument squarely into the realm of prognostication and prophesy.
If I were to say “CRUZ WILL WIN EVERY STATE BY MORE THAN 99%” — I would hope someone would point out that I’m completely full of it and need to stop taking whatever form of medication that leads me to believe that what I want to happen is, in any way at all, related to reality.
Ah yes... Reagan-Carter comparison.. you do know from the time the polls showing Carter to be ahead, Carter proceeded to be battered by a tanking economy, the Iran hostage crisis and Soviet expansion. Hillary doesn’t face those same challenges.
And before YOU spout on about “indictment,” you need to answer the question, “by whom will be indicted?”
Poll: Trump Would Lose UTAH to HillaryOh lucky you.
GodGunsGutsGoebbels another GOPe pinhead that would vote for Hillary over Trump
*she be indicted”...
If, after 3 years:
Trump wins the nomination
Trump wins the general election
The price of gold drops steeply in relation to the dolor
Unemployment - REAL unemployment drops down below 5%
All “Quantitative Easing” stops
Illegals are deported
Wall is built — and more importantly manned with people to stop more illegals.
I will be the biggest trump cheerleader in the country.
I was making a much more valuable point, one that is so often lost on the Trump Troopers, which I am hoping to rectify with some extra repetition. But as a typical mind-numbed Trump Trooper, it went right over your head and parted your honorary comb-over right down the middle.
Poll: Trump Would Lose UTAH to Hillary”
I'd rather win NH, GA, MS, TN, KY, LO, HI, MS, FL, AZ, CA, NY, NJ, MO, WV, VA, PA, WI to name a few other states.
You go ahead and crow about the importance of winning proportional UT. Conservative isn't necessarily synonymous with Mormon.
If trump doesnt get the nomination they arent going to give it to Cruz because hes an outsider
You don't have it right.
First off, he can't get a majority. Will you concede that? Or are you really going to argue that he is going to get 84 percent of the remaining delegates.
Second, if he knows he can't win on the first ballot, and he stays in the race, why? Well, there can only be two reasons. 1)To win after the first ballot; or 2) To help the GOPe deny the nomination to Trump to give it to someone they favor.
Where you and some of your cultists go off the rails is apparently in the belief that Cruz can win an open convention. He can't. Once Trump is denied the nomination, the GOPe is never, ever going to give it to Cruz. Yes, he is the guy the establishment is pushing right now. Yes, they are giving him money and people and endorsements. But it is not because they like him. It is because they need to stop Trump, the front runner. If Cruz were leading with the delegates that Trump has, I do not doubt that the establishment would try to get people to vote for Trump to derail Cruz.
But Trump wouldn't be stupid enough to play along. He would say, I can't win, I'm not going to waste my money, and I'm not going to work to elect Ryan or Kasich.
Cruz, on the other hand, either is deluded enough to think they will give it to him, or he wants to at least get VP, or something like that.
Regardless, any scenario that denies the nomination to Trump, who is clearly going to get very near the majority if he doesn't get there, absolutely ensures that there will be a very angry and large bloc of voters who will not support the nominee in the general election. Whoever the Dems nominate will win in a landslide.
And so, Cruz and his supporters are currently working for the election of Hillary. Good job!
I used small words, so hopefully you can understand why you are working for Hillary right at this very minute.

“And together the states constitute a national election on that day, but however you choose to term it, the point stands.”
No it doesn’t because in context the statement “Trump loses in a national election” is based on ‘national polls’ which do NOT reflect the state by state competitions and Trump’s superiority over Cruz, and all other republicans, in that respect.
I thought the small words were because you were a trump fan.
I admit it is unlikely that Cruz can get over 50%.
I also think it unlikely that trump will get over 50%
I think it likely that in vote #2 Cruz wins the candidacy.
I think the party is not quite stupid enough to select anyone other than one of the top 2 and they will chose the one that will do the least amount of damage to the party.
I think Cruz curb stomps clinton in the general.
You can deny this all you want, but it comes down to this: Trump is deep in a hole vs Clinton right now and there is absolutely no survey data whatsoever that shows he would win in November.
Dude, I’m autistic and even I know that you don’t try to get people on your side by insulting them.
It’s pretty obvious that your motives are not to try to talk with anyone. Your motives are to throw a childish tantrum while trying to annoy everyone else.
So yes, I’m calling troll who just can’t handle the fact that you’re not only wrong, but losing.
” So how much are you being paid for the afternoon Cruz-worship shift? “
MKJESSUP
Yeah, triple G, how much? Or are we wrong, and it is indeed ROVE that is paying you. I gotz ta know!
