Things have gotten way out of control here as of late. You know as well as most of us, that this war must end and end now, or your forum will end up being nothing more than a joke.
I humbly suggest that you not just request, but demand, that everyone step back and take a serious look at the slanderous comments being made by both camps. Debate is one thing, but what is happening is no longer a debate. This forum is on the verge of a civil war. A war that need not happen. For the good of this great forum, I and many I have talked to on both sides of the war admit things have gone too far.
I am a Ted Cruz supporter, yet I call on all my fellow Cruz supporters to put the knives back in the sheaths, as I ask the same of all you Trump supporters.
This civil war of Freeper against Freeper must end, or the result will inevitably be a complete destruction of this once great forum.
I begin by laying down my weapons as a gesture of good will. From hence forth I will not post any comments that are just knee jerk angry remarks that only serve to fuel the fires of hate and animosity.
We all have a common enemy in this fight, the eventual Democrat Presidential Nominee. I suggest we all remember this, because a house divided upon itself cannot stand, nor defeat the enemy.
I also offer this promise to everyone. Should Trump win the nomination, I promise to fight as hard, and as passionate, for him to become POTUS as I will for Cruz.
I do, too. Just skimming his bio on Wikipedia, I see there are some significant anniversaries coming up, most notably the 60th since his ordination. I think a card is in order. We won’t have him with us much longer.

How about this: I will restrict myself to hard-hitting fact-based critiques or support of the candidates themselves and refrain from personal attacks on any other FReeper.
I don’t think this is any time to call a truce between Trump and Cruz supporters, because this matter has to be settled. I want one of them to win and thus I want the other to lose, and nothing is going to change that. We should all be called upon to forcefully advocate for our position and be willing to take the slings and arrows that will come our way.
But I agree with you that personal attacks on other FReepers have no place here. At the end of the day, we all have to pull together, and that will be much more difficult to do if we have been attacking one another personally. It is difficult enough if your guy loses without having personal insult piled on top.
Look at my tag line. I don’t want to hold a grudge against anyone here.

We lose sight that our real battle is anti-establishment versus establishment, a vile establishment in the process of destroying this once great constitutional republic. I have watched intelligent, rational, patriotic Freepers become vicious animals in this Trump/Cruz war. Not all, but certain seemingly bloodthirsty individuals are more concerned about being righteous and visible than saving this country.
As I have said before, we are no better, not that much different, than Shiites and Sunnis.

If it’s Trump-Clinton, he will be the only major party nominee to have funded his major party opponent in the past. I think the Democrats might remind voters of that fact.

If I accept at face value your assertion that all real estate developers are corrupt and routinely buy off government officials, it does not change the fact that Donald Trump is corrupt and has routinely bought off government officials.
Perhaps it means that we should not be electing any real estate developers, who are all corrupt in your view, to high elective office.
