The DNS server should be working now. Woo hoo!
Dumb-dumb out of date records error led to administrative hold. John finally got them to update and release the hold. Long convoluted story, but that's not important. What's important now is that we're up and running just in the nick of time for Wisconsin.

Just spill the real story in your memoirs okay?
We’re just on the well working end. Rarely see problems, no difficulties no harassments, Freerepublic inception date and if you’re posts are coherent and rational thought, you can almost post about any topic.
Your end must see some pretty nasty stuff from time to time. The lawyers, the lawfare attacks, Bureaucratic antagonists, political instigators, death threats, bomb threats ... have you been swatted yet?
Interestingly, it did behave as a contagion as it spread from name server to name server.

Likewise on my phone, I was able to access FR via my phone but not through my ISP (comcast). It is working now, though.

Is there any reason that I might need to change it back?The IP address of FreeRepublic may change. If you have trouble delete the entry in the host file. Better yet just comment it out in the host file. The you can switch back if lookups fail again by uncommenting it.
