This is the pledge that they demanded Trump sign, which was also signed by every candidate, including Bush:
“I ______ affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States, I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is,” the document, on R.N.C. letterhead, states. “I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.”
No wiggle room. No "as long as he's nice to me" clause. A signed promise. Jeb violated it.

As you observe, they all hate each other and have acted like creeps.

Brett Beir really wanted Trump to pledge his support to the eventual nominee at that first debate. Then when the nominee turns out to be Trump then the very one’s that were trying to demand his loyalty to them would not do the same even after they said they would. So who has the lower ethics in this situation?

I fear you are over-optimistic. They probably still have plans for King George III, although by going over the top this time, they were thinking short term instead of long term. Sen. Prescott would have been disappointed.

In my opinion, it is rude to insult other people. It is rude if you do it in a cool, “objective” tone. It is rude if you do it with vulgarity and name-calling. It is rude if you do it in such a way that a person reading a transcript “could” understand it as not being insulting, if he tried.

This is an attempt to describe different ways of being rude. An analogy is that shooting, stabbing, and poisoning are different ways of killing.

I hope this gives an idea of what I meant.

Well, yes, since you put it that way. That is a different sort of "rude" from Donald Trump's sort.

We have a nation suffering from political correctness. Trump calls them as he sees them. I personally have NO problem calling a spade a spade. Snowflakes were always going to melt.

Okay, it’s fine that you have that opinion. A lot of voters seem to share it. My point, which seems to have been lost, is that it is completely to be expected that Jeb Bush and others would feel, and act with, personal hostility toward Donald Trump. It is entirely to be expected that Donald Trump would feel, and act upon, personal hostility toward various Republican candidates and party figures.

So what kind of rude is Rubio, jumping around the stage like as 12 year old, talking about penises? Or Cruz’s embarrassingly nasty speech on the day he ‘quit’ the race? Or Perry’s cancer remark? Or Snarly’s endless insults?

I mean, this is politics and it gets ugly. Trump is no worse than any of them - simply more effective. That always pisses off the losers!

Yep, one produces winners, while the other produces losers.

Get over it for goodness sake.

I agree. In my opinion, they have all acted dreadfully. It's fine with me if others have different opinions.

What part of pledge taking is up for discussion? The purpose initially was to require Trump to take that pledge... Now it is just fine after the multiple millions of dollars of negative ads against Trump to renege on a pledge... over 'rudeness'. Jeb Bush was as rude to Trump as Trump has ever been to Jeb. One cannot server two masters.

Jeb wrongly blames Trump for his embarrassing loss.

Actually, Jeb's running against the base (us) with enthusiastic support for amnesty for illegal aliens (including speeches in Spanish) was enough for that base (us) to make choices more in line with our beliefs.

I have no like, at all, for Mister Trump, but I know that the consequences of not voting for him (2A, Supremes, Defense, and etc). And, I'm trying to talk a few recalcitrant conservative friends and relatives to voting for Trump as well (no luck so far).

Jeb would to himself (popularity-wise) and our Fine Country a favor if he did the same.

!Jeb! doesn't have to give a gushing endorsement. He could simply say in his low energy voice Of course I'm voting for Trump, he is our candidate and be done with it. But no, he has to make a stand and tell us that he will be voting for a conservative. The funny thing is, he doesn't know what a conservative is being that he isn't one. Remember when he said that he could win the GOP nod without conservatives?

Perhaps your sympathy should be placed elsewhere, not with this toad and his globalist family that brought us both Clinton and Obama.

Notice the more refined delivery.
Trump is listening to his consultants.
