Donald Trump says there’s a 40 percent chance he picks someone from this year’s Republican presidential field as his vice president. But the odds-on favorite to win the veepstakes: Newt Gingrich.

The former speaker of the house was a perpetual thorn in the side of the Bill Clinton administration. And he sounds like he’s relishing a shot at Hillary Clinton. Gingrich has lavished praise on Trump. The business mogul has not said much about the man named Newt. But oddsmakers and betting markets like Gingrinch’s chances nonetheless.

In this unpredictable election season, bookies have some other strange options in mind for Trump. On betting site PaddyPower, you can place money on Mitt Romney (66/1), Lindsey Graham (80/1) and even Trump’s daughter (50/1) as of May 13...

Cruz should be the top pick. We need to unite.

Amen. Trump could certainly use Cruz's army of enthusiastic grassroots volunteers.

Your Yes list is horrible. Probably the three worst choices.

Among those on the list, who would make for better choices?

Not saying this as a challenge, but as someone who is unsure...why? Are there specific reasons why she is not qualified? From what I understand, she is not a rock-ribbed conservative, but she seems to never be part of the establishment conversation, and has enough conservative cred. I can’t remember any controversy as to her performance as Sec of State, and she had all the right enemies, including a prickly relationship with Colin Powell, the racist.

Allen West has been very negative about Trump on his Twitter feed. Donald only rewards loyalty.

Allen West's wife Angela has been full on in support of Trump. She posts a lot of great stuff on facebook.

Best on this list are

Kasich
Giuliani
Martinez
Carson

Never mind the successor, next in line thing.

We MUST win this election first and foremost.

I like the last one, Donald Trump at 100/1. Who better to serve as Donald’s VP than Donald?

I like Walker. He stood up to that brutal attack with the labor unions that trashed their beautiful capital. Also, he can ensure that the Wisconsin goes to Trump. Bush, McCain, Romney all lost Wisconsin. It will create another battleground state.

You talk about OLD strategy. “We need a woman. We need a black guy. We need a Veteran.” “We need Kasich, Cruz, etc. etc.” Methinks Donald is giggling and saying “Here is who you are getting.”

Pig Vomit Kay Sick has sex scandals in his closet and is a paid Soros stooge. A 100% RINO Socialist fraud.

Giuliani is pro-abortion.

Susana Martinez has a mediocre record in office.

Carson needs more seasoning.

Although Walker is credible and creditable, he turned out to be a total flop as a national candidate. Unfortunately, he alone would not help carry Wisconsin.

I think Trump alone puts Wisconsin in play, but Walker will put him over the Top.

I always got the idea that VP candidates were more obscure.
