Pope Francis has urged Europeans to take in more refugees, asserting that the best way to combat terrorism is by warmly welcoming migrants and helping them integrate into the “European context.” In a meeting with hundreds of alumni of Jesuit schools in the Vatican on Saturday, Francis told his hearers that authentic hospitality “is our greatest security against hateful acts of terrorism.”
With your help, the Pope said, “the Church will be able to respond more fully to the human tragedy of refugees through acts of mercy that promote their integration into the European context and beyond.”

Sorry, no sale! I was raised a Mormon and I hate everything about it now ( including the worthless Mormons who have been elected to public office like Reid, Flake, Romney, et. al). And let's not leave out all those “stalwart Catholics” like Nazi Pelosi, Father Pfleger, etc ( those who take the sacrement and support the killing of the unborn, or who routinely break our immigration laws). You are free to believe whatever you like, just don't tell me that you “know” that it's all true. And BTW, I wasn't insulting you, I was simply stating my personal conviction about “organized religion” In general. In my view, you simply don't need all the ritualistic ballyhoo and the coughing up of your hard-earned cash to have someone (who probably isn't as good as you are)” help you to have a belief in God.

Personally I recommend Lutheranism; you still get the Sacraments but you don’t have to deal with Frank the Hippie Pope. As long as you go LCMS Lutherans at least.
Admittedly I’m biased because it’s the church I’m clergy in, but I can tell you that in my experience, you get the Gospel and not the social justice gospel.

I’ve always wondered about the Orthodox Church.
I’ve got a LOT of thinking to do.
I have never been introduced to any religion but catholicism and Judaism.
Jewish buddies introduced me to their customs and holidays.
But i have NO CLUE about any other Christian sect.
And when it’s explained to me, there are so many i forget.
You could attend services at a Synagogue and Orthodox Church for starters and then Protestant Churches as well just to get a feel for what you like.
Your opinion - you are entitled to it. Pelosi, Fr. Pfleger - obviously do not represent what the Church stands for = their actions directly contradict the teachings. I said I believe in Truth. You are free to believe, or not believe - free will and all.

I’m not Catholic, but my wife is, so we go to her church often. Almost every Sunday we attend, in the prayers we are led to ask for “welcome” and generosity to all immigrants and refugees. Even my wife, who is a legal immigrant, has to roll her eyes.
Compassion is one thing — stupidity is another.
Same here. Been going with a couple friends to different denominations and it’s the same thing.....Follow the money.
