Colt 380 Mustang

Posted on 09/25/2016 6:42:07 AM PDT by doghorse

Charlotte victims gun was either in condition zero or condition one. Both of these conditions mean he was ready to rock and roll. The only difference between 0 and 1 is 0 means he already had the safety off. Unbelievable the media has not pointed out the alleged firearm with cocked and ready to go.

I used to want a Mustang. Now I'd rather have a Glock 42.

Several years ago, after a few training classes, I went from 1911s and Milt Sparks to Glocks and Raven Concealment. Never looked back.

(taking cover from incoming!) 8~)

Understand, but you never could have bought a Colt 380 or larger for $50 new in your lifetime, could you?

There are a lot of 380 and 9mms in the $300 range and below. Try looking at an all steel/metal blend S&W or a Colt same caliber.

The picture I saw had the thumb safety off.

Hammer back.

READY TO FIRE.

If there is one in the pipe he is at Condition Zero!

It’s a function of beauty. the angles and curves of a 1911 for some reason people find “sexy”. The Glock, on the other hand is a triumph of minimalist design. The Glock is about as sexy as a 2X4. But it works. each and every time. It’s that rock solid reliability and consistency that sells it. All firearms at their heart are machines. It’s just that some designs transcend that and are considered artistic as well. While I find the artistic nature appealing, My primary concern is functionality. It can look like crap so long as it goes “bang” each and every time.

And destroy all the prints ? Don't you watch old detective movies ?

You know, where they pick up the gun with a pencil down the barrel ?

What's Unbelievable that any Freeper thinks that anyone in the media would Know anything about a gun or care to learn.

Is it a Mustang .380 or an old Star mini 1911 lookalike.

This pistol in the photos was Condition Zero, assuming there was a round in the chamber.

photo 16 - 1_zpsohs2hkfo.png I've owned several semi-auto pistols. The only ones that I've kept are my 1911s.

I’m betting that it was stolen and that he didn’t pay retail price for it.

Everyone has their choices for weapons. If we all bought the same one or ones it would put others out of business. Question? Has anyone bought and fired the new Henry 44? I am kind of interested.

It’s been through two world wars, Korea and Vietnam so I ‘ll stick with the 1911. No other weapon has proven itself more effective since the Neanderthal chucked the first spear.

I solved the problem by buying a Colt 1911 Gov. Model and a Glock 19 Gen 3. Both have their plusses and minuses but I love them both equally. I think both are at or near the top of the semi-auto heap.

Not to mention that it was literally invented to kill moslems.

I love 'em.

It's hard to explain to someone who isn't "infected".

I've always considered 1911's as having a "bad boy" image for the simple reason that in the back of your mind you're always thinking "this thing is going to mess up here pretty quick". I really doubt that a completely, 100% reliable 1911 exists.

I don't like to talk about it, but I think every time I pull a 1911 trigger and it goes bang, I sorta think..."well I'll be damed!"

The only tine my 1911 jams is when I use cheap reloads. Even then not very often. You have to man handle a 1911. If you go all limp wristed on it it will punish the user for not having confidence.
