What wonderful news -- investing in actual science and divesting from leftwing lunacy. Some of man's greatest achievements and scientific discoveries came from space exploration.
Obama changed NASA's mission from space exploration to Muslim outreach. NASA's Administrator explained that Obama had asked him to "find ways to reach out to dominantly Muslim countries." (More here: Obama 's stone age)
TRUMP TO SEND MEN BACK TO THE MOON AND 'EXPLORE ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM' RATHER THAN FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE
The president elect could put men on the moon once again and use money from the climate change budget to do it
By Jeff Parsons, The Mirror, November 23, 2016 (thanks to Van):
Sending Americans back to the moon could also hinge on the appointment of Newt Gingrich, a high-profile Republican, to a top job at NASA.
Gingrich has been a vocal supporter of returning to the moon and has even spoken in the past about creating a permanent base there. He says that such a settlement could sustain around 13,000 people and possibly even become a new American state .
However, investing in a moon mission is likely to divert funds from NASA's Earth Sciences division which researches climate change.

YES! Another WIN...
You do know the Chinese are extremely interested in the moon at current, right? The moon has military advantages for whoever possesses it - among other things, a lunar installation can fire projectiles at anywhere on Earth in a form of orbital bombardment. It is the ultimate high ground and you can’t sneak up on it.
The moon is also thought to be an easy source of vast amounts of helium-3, an isotope of helium that would make you easier fusion energy production. Between 15-20 tons of the stuff would power the entire US power grid for a year. Helium-3 is also extremely useful in other products and processes. The Chinese know it is there as well and they are planning on staking their mining claims first. https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/197784-china-is-going-to-mine-the-moon-for-helium-3-fusion-fuel
So THAT’S why he was talking to Al, to send him into space to study the effects of climate change from out there. :-)
Besides, the progress of the Chinese space program has not been... stellar.
Well if money must be wasted I rather have it wasted here, rather than wasted to undermine our economy.
My son said the other day that he hopes Trump will announce a plan to send men to Mars.
If Trump does anything to revive any kind of space program, that will be far more than short-sighted Obama did. Obama got rid of the shuttle program with no replacement in mind... how narrow-minded!
I actually hope that all science will benefit. Instead of shoveling billions down the pit of “climate change”, we can have that money used for real science.
Making Space Exploration Great Again... :-)
What is the big hurry to send humans to Mars?
************
Because a probe or rover just doesn’t say “this is OURS” like a human planting a flag does.
H-3 isn’t the only thing that can be found on the moon - lots of other metals and precious materials there too.
I hope so. Its is somewhat upsetting, when a brilliant child, who wanted to be an astronaut. Grows up and becomes one and then, has to ride up and back on a Soviet craft.
Reminded us of a recent sub plot on the Big Bang show.
I’m not sure about Muslim contributions but they do worship of moon rock so there is that.
For some reason this morning and yesterday afternoon, both of my pinky fingers and ring fingers are not working with my brain when trying to type.
I have had to ask the mods to nuke a few of my replies.
Fortunately, all my other motor skills are performing well for a 70++++ guy.
It comes down to obtaining water.
If they mine water, perhaps at the poles, they can build a permanent base where re-supply needs are at a minimum.
Water prospecting can be done with rovers.
A base would be similar to McMurdo base on Antarctica, to an extent.
See your Newt, raise you a Buzz ...
But in reality Life immitates art.
The new movie General Election, playing on a TV near you, is a dramatic tale of the surprise election of a peoples hero over a villanous opponent and is generating positive buzz for the primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Drama Series.
Reince Priebus stars in a supporting role as an Apprentice to the Donald. Priebus formerly starred as the yes-man head of the Republican Party but was tapped by the Donald to serve as his chief of staff after swearing allegiance and proving loyalty to the Donald during the 2016 presidential election. Priebus is an Emmy frontrunner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for General Election.
Up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series is Donald Trump. He stars as The Donald and plays himself. After starring in his own realty TV show The Apprentice, Don Trump took on, with no pay, the part in General Election. In the story The Donald takes on the Republican Party, the Mainstream Media and crushes the Democrat Party in the 2016 presidential election. The talented Don Trump is also an award hopeful for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
After a dramatic election night win, the story seques to Trump Tower where The Donald is seen inviting friends and foes to swear loyalty and kiss his ring. Trump Tower, an impregnable fortress in downtown New York City, is under heavy guard by the secret service and is described as a Gold Gaudy Building by detractors. An Emmy for Outstanding Production Design for Variety, Nonfiction, Reality, or Reality-Competition Programming is a longshot since interior visuals of The Tower have been kept to a minimum.
The Emmy award for Outstanding Writing for Non-Fiction Programming is in the mix what with major plot twists and turns of the post election drama of recounts and accusations of voter fraud. General Election is still in production and storylines have room to grow and may still wind up award worthy.
Up for an Emmy as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series is newcomer Ivanka Trump, real-life daughter of Don Trump. Major threats include Melania Trump who plays a poised and lovely and amazing conversationalist and is also the real life wife of Don Trump.
