Parts of Los Angeles ethnically cleansed of white people have a new look
American Thinker ^ | 03/16/2017 | Ed Straker

The heavily Hispanic neighborhood of Boyle Heights in Los Angeles declared victory recently when they managed to drive a "white" art gallery from the neighborhood.  Community groups have been battling to drive out art galleries out of fear of "gentrification," the code word for white people.

Almost from the moment it opened its doors last year Pssst, a nonprofit gallery, and its creators, have been the focus of protests and criticism on social media.

Last month, they announced they could not tolerate it. They were closing up shop.

"This persistent targeting, which was often highly personal in nature, was made all the more intolerable because the artists engaged are queer, women, and/or people of color," they said on their website. "We could no longer continue to put already vulnerable communities at further risk."

Defend Boyle Heights, one of the activist groups that has called for boycott of the galleries, said that it considered the closing a victory and that it hoped other galleries would soon follow suit.

Having pushed white people out of the neighborhood, they wanted to be sure not to see them return.

I wondered what Boyle Heights looks like now that it has been transformed and found these snapshots on Google Street, which I think are very representative of the dominant culture:

The area is vibrant with ethnically diverse sidewalk restaurants.

The community has thriving financial institutions.  Note the green letters "EBT" in the window; that is a common symbol on many businesses.  This is a diverse community, with many equally diverse forms of financing.  Note the pawn shop to the right.

Is this a food store that sells liquor or a liquor store that also sells food?  You decide!

They just learned the hard way what we have known all along- conservatives are more tolerant of gays and people of color than many other minority groups are. That's because we don't judge people by their looks, but by their character.

EBT water means that you can charge your EBT card for $100 debit, get a $6.00 case of bottled water, and $24 cash change.

Both parties in that transaction walk away satisfied.

Somehow laws like the Fair Housing Act don’t seem to exist here.

My town has parts like that too.

This was a black and Dutch blue collar area 30 years ago. Now we have a Cesar Chavez elementary school up the street. But at least the illegals (HINT, ICE) here keep to themselves and dont try to influence local politics.

Someone must have gotten their New Year’s Eve wish to have never been born, because Boyle Heights has become Pottersville. (”Pueblo del Potter”?)

It’s LA. Lost cause. Who cares? Hasn’t changed much since the last time I was there.

At least Lupita was nice enough to write her sign in English. Oh, and if you pan the picture around, you can see the bakery that accepts EBT on the other side of the street.

They try to tell us these wonderful, vibrant, hardworking, family values people are such an asset, only an evil racist would oppose them flooding in.

Well, look hard at those pictures. Because I live in LA and am here to tell you, that’s exactly what it’s like, all over. And if it hasn’t come to your town yet, I’m glad for you! But it’s coming. As well as loud Mexican music blasting until 2:00 a.m. Chickens in yards. Graffiti. Store announcements in Spanish. You’ll be afraid to leave your house because of all the gangs and punks. Hit and run accidents. And on and on.

This is what we tried to prevent back when we voted for Prop 187.

IMO each state should have a list of grocery stores that they approve to accept EBT cards as well as an approved list of items that can be purchased.

Controls are desperately needed on the where, how and on what when taxpayer funding is involved.

I have lived in the LA area my whole life (46 years). Boyle Heights is, and always has been a toilet. It is often described as “vibrant”, “vivid”, “thriving”, etc. Truth is it is a gangland cesspool. Most the people there are lowlifes, deadbeats and illegals. Thats the way the like it roo. They dont want no gringo art galleries around.

“White liberals wanted multi-culturalism, they got multi-culturalism.”

Now they don’t have to drive their expensive cars and limos so far to see the real thing ... wealthy white tourist industry about to take off ...

The anti-gentrification movement in L.A. has it new levels of absurdity. One of the terms tossed around is “gentefication” which targets Latino hipsters who grew up in these areas, went away to college, and are now back in the old ‘hood starting art galleries, cafes, etc. They are literally “eating their own”.

I think a bunch of Conservatives should get together and go to these neighborhoods and teach these fine new Americans all about America being a proposition nation.

All Men are Created Equal! Freedom! Universal Suffrage! Pursuit of Happiness! Reach for the stars! Muh Constitution!

The residents of this neighborhood are just as American as George Washington. And if anybody disagrees, they're the worst sort of racist.

There are 7.1 billion Americans on planet earth, and they're all created equal.

They all should have the opportunity to experience Liberty and the fruits of American greatness.
