WASHINGTON White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Tuesday that Adolf Hitler "didn't even sink to using chemical weapons" a comment at odds with Hitler's use of gas chambers to exterminate Jews during the Holocaust.
Spicer was attempting to discuss the horror of the chemical weapons attack last week in Syria, which the Trump administration is blaming on President Bashar Assad.
"We didn't use chemical weapons in World War II," said Spicer, adding that "someone as despicable as Hitler... didn't even sink to using chemical weapons."

oh my god, this guy. Surely that’s it, right?
The key word is “weapons”.
Good one Spicer... JFC
Spandau ballet dance troop encore. What a stupid thing to say?!
Thank you.
Spicer was speaking in the context of using gas on the battlefield.
How some can ignore that point and jump to a different context of gassing Jews in concentration camps is an absurd stretch.
Except for an abhorrent number of helpless prisoners
it’s beyond me why Spicer (or anyone) feels compelled to make this point. Could it be so Dems stop calling him Hitler (yeah, right)
Keeps Susan Rice surveillance story at bay.
Most of today’s journalists know about as much about World War II as they do about physics.
That’s true if taken in context. He used chemicals in the concentration camp, not as a battlefield weapon.
A gift basket filled with Pepsi.
He gassed the mentally ill, and physically handicapped, along with the Jews. His regime also used humans as guinea pigs to do medical tests and experiments on.
When gassing proved to be too slow, he simply had his officers take a group of people out into the woods, make them dig their own graves, then line them up, and mow them down.
That would be my vote.
The Germans did not use poison gas in the battlefield.
That is a controversial and newsworthy statement only by the historically ignorant New York Times.
But this wasn’t a battlefield, either.
Maybe because he didn’t have them? This was a guy who was resorting to having kids and the elderly fight near the end not to mention he was out of his mind not to mention he had no issue gassing to death women and kids in the gas chamber. No, I think if he had the opportunity to use something like Mustard gas against the allies he wouldn’t have hesitated for a second.
I think what he was trying to say, is (even) Hitler turned down sarin use as too gruesome. Maybe the historians can chime in?
Gotta give Spicer credit. He is remarkably talented at find the stupidest possible thing to say. Him and Biden should have a news analysis show together, it would be sadly hilarious.
