My grampa imitated owls. We called them hoot owls.
We had a camp house in the East Texas Piney Woods and he would hoot at them at night from the screened porch and they would answer.
Great memories.

WOW!
This is an amazing rescue of a great horned owl who could have done some serious damage to its rescuer but instead allowed itself to be saved. Kudos to the brave man who stepped in to save the owl when no wildlife professionals were available.

I have four words ...IT'S Paul Ryans Fault! ...Patience isn't an easy task when our President is totally on another page in his fast pace agenda. Not sure our lazy Congress will ever get on the right page gubamyster but I'm sure our 3-D Chess Player won't give up. He's going to make our country GREAT before he gets out come hell or high water. Good morning LG!
Today will be a good day, it seems warm out already.
Tomorrow I have to go to Nashville, a 5 Hour drive to see an orthopedic surgeon. I have to go twice a year and I hate that drive. When I was in California I used to have to drive to Los Angeles, which is actually worse because of the traffic. But it was only two hours away.
So I am going to enjoy today, getting to stay put and having no plans other than rest in my arms to get ready for tomorrow. Where he will poke and prod me and make me hurt :-(
I’ll miss being here tomorrow, please make all the news wait until Friday for me

Your lilacs are BEAUTIFUL!!
As a girl, I had lilac everything....bedding, throw rug, perfume (toilet water....do you remember toilet water?? Why did they call it that? :)
Do they do best in cooler, dry climates? I’d love to have them, but I’m in humid, SE TX :(
