An Ohio lawmaker who routinely touted his Christian faith and anti-LGBT views has resigned after being caught having sex with a man in his office.
Wes Goodman, who is the Republican state legislator for Ohio, is married to a woman who is assistant director of an annual anti-abortion rally known as March for Life.
The right-wing legislator, who pushed family values, was reportedly witnessed having sex with a man inside his office who was not employed by the legislator.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, the observer told Ohio House Chief of Staff Mike Dittoe what had happened on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Dittoe responded by telling House Speaker Republican Cliff Rosenberger who in turn met with Mr Goodman.

The left circles the wagons as an impulse. We don’t need to be like them.
We also don’t need to accept their rhetoric about hypocrisy or indeed respond to them on their invited grounds.
If I may borrow from Lewis: the Cleavers may be unconflicted but that doesn’t mean those who revel in *whatever* stand in a good place to judge Mr Halfways and his daughters.
Well... I think he could have opposed the public manifestation of this stuff while still carrying it on, and not opposing others carrying it on, in private. By definition that isn’t hypocrisy. It’s probably the best tack that the “secular world” can take. It needs evangelists in order to go further.
The bigger issue was that it was in his office, that is supposed to be a public facility. If you think it doesn’t belong in public, fine! But then practice that too, realizing the status of where you are.
clinton didn’t resign after having sex with a woman in his office.
Did he say he was Christian? If true that’s a bad witness.
But at the same time, it doesn’t have to end up in permanent disaster, even for Christendom.
Returning to fundamentals — going back to Jesus and begging help to control his body according to the desires of God — is needed.
Sometimes the ex-scandaled are the “best” Christians of all. Case in point, Peter and Paul. Because they had to address the issues resulting in scandal that mere natural happenstance was sufficient to address in other people.
Glory goes to God in ways that we would never expect if glory had to go to men.
When those who will NOT inherit the Kingdom are listed it immediately follows it up with “and such were some of you”.
Repentance calls is the sweet spot.
It isn’t my job to care about the feewings of those who are in the such are you still category. Give them the truth and let God sort them out.
If they reject God and His only Gospel it is on THEM and only on them.
If I may borrow from Lewis: the Cleavers may be unconflicted but that doesnt mean those who revel in *whatever* stand in a good place to judge Mr Halfways and his daughters.
A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
How much damage has he done while working from the inside?
That is insane. If homosexuality can be transmitted via a sexually communicable pathogen then shouldn’t that infection be transmitted to the opposite sex spouses of closeted homosexuals? There should a strong correlation between receiving child support from a homosexual man and being married to a woman. I am unaware of any such statistics indicating such a phenomenon. Though I suppose you could get cute and posit distinct pathogens for causing homosexual behavior in men than in women. However, those women would still by necessity be carriers of the homosexual male pathogen which would infect any subsequent heterosexual partners. Where are the Typhoid Marys of gay? Surely there should be scores of women rocked by the successive heartbreak of discovering another man in their marriage bed. Where are they? Or maybe, just maybe, sin is sin. We don’t sin because we acquired a series of infections. We sin because we are human. Or maybe you think Jesus was just a dude with the best immune system in all of history?
No, not “reasons” but “validation” in their attitudes. Thus they go on about hypocricy rather than sin.
I think it’s the generally low mortality rate in the modern era.
The consequences of stupidity, lack of self-control and other character flaws use to be a lot more fatal in pre-modern, more hardscrabble eras when famine and disease were close companions of poverty.
The twin studies can be construed as evidence of some sort of genetic/hormonal factors contributive toward the orientation. Near 50% propensity in identical twins is a huge factor. I and my housemate have not heard of any significant explanations for why some (~50%) identical twins do not follow that pattern.
There appears to be a 10-20% predisposition from genetic and/or hormonal influences toward the orientation.
The bulk of the remaining deciding factor appears to be insufficient quality and quantity of love from a healthy affectionate father. A smothering mother U/or gr*tchy mother can also be contributive toward the orientation.
Some Christian folks claim that there is a demonic--possibly generational demonic--factor involved.
There is evidently a software program that can predict with 70% accuracy whether a photo like that is of a gay bloke, or not.
Great points well put.
Reading a story like this makes me want to vomit. However, it does make me wonder if the entire GOP leadership suffers from this mans mental illness...
Ah, there’s the DIFFERENCE!
Thomas was accused, a he said: she said.
This guy was caught.
Defending Thomas wasn’t, or at least didn’t require, a knee jerk wagon circling.
With Democrats the wagons circle themselves. It’s like I recently postulated: with the left the standard for evidence that they will accept is inherently partisan. This when they speak to Democrat wrongdoings they may often speak of a lack of CONVICTIONS where when it comes to anyone else it’s the presence of INVESTIGATIONS. This way they up front disallow any of the sorts of evidences of wrongdoing or abuses that can be offered.
As I’ve often said: their ability to ignore abuses of power (etc) gives lie to the often common fantasy among the left that, had they been there in 1776, they would have been steadfast with the Patriots.
One of the chief traits of the Patriots was a sensitivity to the “long train of abuses” that indicated more yet to come. To those who hunger and thirst for MORE government and MORE officials scattered across the land to eat out the people’s subsistence there is no since that they would have EVER taken issue with the Crown. In fact, had they been there they may have been demanding MORE government from the distant ruler, not less, and had these transposed in time persons been as loopy progressive as they are now the King may have found cause to protest them.
In these last days, the sheep are going to be separated from the goats. Everything hidden will be brought into the light. It won’t be pretty, but it will result in a cleansing revival, praise God.

A) the number of Lesbains is quite small. B) how do we know that the inflection wouldn’t just make them attracted to men? Lesbains are a whole different ball of wax and from my personal experience, I’ve never met a Lesbain who wouldn’t have sex with the right man.
>However, those women would still by necessity be carriers of the homosexual male pathogen which would infect any subsequent heterosexual partners. Where are the Typhoid Marys of gay? Or maybe like most STDs the infection lingers for months and then dies. In the case of gay men, they would receive regular re-injections and reinfections of it. Or as is true with a lot of STDs some people can kick the infection and some can not.
>Or maybe, just maybe, sin is sin. We dont sin because we acquired a series of infections. We sin because we are human. Or maybe you think Jesus was just a dude with the best immune system in all of history?
If homosexuality is a disease, it’s one that you pick up from immoral behavior. A lot of the bibles cleanness rules/sins are designed around avoiding infection. And go forth and sin no more is a great way not to pick up a new or re-infection.
Amen
I feel it is individuals like this who give fuel to the hate the left has towards Christianity. I maybe too idealistic as we are human beings and have all sorts of fears about acceptance.
If he was out as a Republican, Gay and a Christian, I would be totally accepting of him. Boinking at work is just stupid, but men often think with their third leg.
I am a big fan of Milo.
