An Ohio lawmaker who routinely touted his Christian faith and anti-LGBT views has resigned after being caught having sex with a man in his office.

Wes Goodman, who is the Republican state legislator for Ohio, is married to a woman who is assistant director of an annual anti-abortion rally known as March for Life.

The right-wing legislator, who pushed “family values”, was reportedly witnessed having sex with a man inside his office who was not employed by the legislator.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the observer told Ohio House Chief of Staff Mike Dittoe what had happened on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Dittoe responded by telling House Speaker Republican Cliff Rosenberger who in turn met with Mr Goodman.

The key point being that they already had their fortunes, right?

My first thought as well.

Well anyhow. If they’d gone where they wouldn’t have been caught, this fuss never would have happened.

He shouldn’t have prostituted his office, to make a pun.

It’s like the old worldly adage. If you can’t be good, be careful.

I think the modern (lefty!) American inclination to be all-or-nothing about things led to the “gay” crowd being sicced on the public, which was worse than leaving it alone in closets.

OK Goodman: better call Saul!

House Chief of Staff, Mike Dittoe, agrees. He always agrees.

Well, in that day fortunes doesn’t have to mean a lot of money. It can mean destiny to the good. Though most were pretty rich anyhow.

>There is something about homosexuality that is akin to disease. They don’t seem capable of resisting doing their sexual act, or where.

The leading non-PC theory on the cause of homosexual behavior is an infection of some sort. Studies on identical twins indicate that only a 40% chance that both twins will be homos if one twin is a homo. That indicates an infection in utero. The real thing to study which hasn’t been done is whether people raped by homosexuals suddenly become homosexual.

I have an older black friend who’s lived a rough life in many bad areas. Had lots of friends end up in jail or dead. He described to me how a friend of his went into jail straight and after being raped in jail was only interested in men after getting out. Personally, that sounds like a virus to me.

I have considered the possibility that because both parties are men, there is never one participant more inclined to putting the brakes on sexual activity.

I think the founders of this country would have vomited at the thought of a college offering a degree in “politics and government.” LOL.

# 15 ~ HiTech RedNeck wrote ~ But it can mean understanding that the closet should remain the closet. The homos should have stayed in the closet, US Law still recognized 'same-sex civil unions' for 'significant others'. They instead chose to attempt re-defining marriage which alienated normal people; thus contradicting their premise that they simply demanded tolerance & equal rights. They now demand that we hetero folks Celebrate, and Endorse their 'lifestyle' choices... That strategy has back-fired, and I believe the pendulum has started to swing in the opposite direction. MAGA!

Well, perversion can go pretty “damned” deep. Some consider it a trip to be violated pretty raunchily.

The real answer to this is spiritual. In 20/20 hindsight, I think we ought to have had missionaries who visited the bath houses, the closets, and other such places — not to join in the debauchery, but spiritually steeled and ready to persuade men (and for the ladies, women) that God really loves them right down to their ding-a-lings and their rear ends — but has a better idea about how to do it.

Not necessarily so in principle, but what happens in it today would be viewed by them as being utterly devoid of the spiritual attitudes that they held dear.

“The right-wing legislator, who pushed “family values”, was reportedly witnessed having sex with a man inside his office who was not employed by the legislator.”

... so does this mean the reporter would have felt differently about it HAD he been employed by the legislator?

In any event, even people who have repented still struggle with the sin that so easily entangles them and will till the body of death is finally removed ... though of course this guy may not be struggling at all and may be as unrepentant as the day he first molested another guy’s ass.

Those truths aside there is an faulty attitude about hypocricy that is at odds with knowing about human sin nature and it is often most clearly expressed by those who don’t believe in sin, or at least Biblical sin (social sinning against things PC is another matter entirely), and it boils down to a celebration of non-progressives being less than they claim to be.

Those who may celebrate every perversion and revile all godliness are, in short scandalized by Christians who act like the world even as they love it when they do.

And guess what? This is nothing new. Long ago it was told to Israel that it was on account of them that heathens blasphemed. Why should that change?

Leaving office isn’t repentance. That’s as easily a tribute to the wants of the offendsensitive left. Repentance is a daily matter because, to be blunt, your average human being has difficulty staying on the proverbial alter and keeps trying to crawl off. The world doesn’t get that, especially the post-moderns who are mockers and revilers. It doesn’t see, as per the song, those who fall down and get up. It only sees hypocricy when those who disagree with it still are caught acting like the world.

To the nutter left a sinner who celebrates sin (if it’s a socially approved sin like homosexuality is) is better than a man who struggles with sin because they aren’t hypocrites.

The person that struggles with sin is better than the libertine precisely because the libertine is so unconflicted. This is even true when a “moral” heathen is compared to the wanton heathen, their morality may not profit them but it at least has practical benefits to them and society.

Much better still to be repentant, though.

Yeah, that sure made itself evident.

But at the same time, there shouldn’t have had to be a Romer case. That was closet, and the entrance of the police was incidental to what was going on there.

“Excuse us gentlemen, you need to get decent” would have sufficed there. And saved America a false-dichotomy trip to where we are today.

I warn repentance mavens that they had better be crystal clear on its object. Otherwise they’re just being Pharisees.
