FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is stepping down from his job and is expected to be replaced by David Bowdich, a senior official who headed the FBI’s response to the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif., according to people familiar with the plans.

McCabe will formally retire in March but plans to leave the deputy director position now, a person close to the matter confirmed to The Washington Post’s Devlin Barrett and Matt Zapotosky on Monday. McCabe has often been a target of President Trump — who asked the deputy director in a private discussion whom he had voted for in the presidential election — and congressional Republicans, who have criticized the FBI for its Russia probe. He will use leave time to fill out his remaining time at the agency.

Here’s what we know about Bowdich:

He began his career as a police officer in New Mexico

The Albuquerque native graduated from New Mexico State University in 1991. He worked as an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department from 1991 to 1995, patrolling the Southeast and North Valley area commands, according to the Albuquerque Journal. He also worked as a detective during his time in the North Valley.

“He was very ambitious, very smart and very physically fit,” Deputy Police Chief Robert Huntsman told the Albuquerque Journal. Huntsman was a sergeant when Bowdich was a cadet at the police academy.

“He was an informal leader for the other cadets,” Huntsman said.

“Every FBI agent has remained silent.”

Just shows you how really bad things are at the FBI, and how it’s been for at least the past 9 years.

Does Lisa Page ever get off the phone with Devlin Barrett?

I heard she was on the horn a lot.

How often she was getting off may turn up in the texts.

Also, if I have to hear Sean Hannity say the majority of the FBI are just wonderful people, I’m going to lose it.

“””David Bowdich, a senior official who headed the FBI’s response to the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif.”””

If this guy is truly the future #2 at the FBI, then we not only have a problem of corruption at the FBI, we also have a major incompetence problem.

NYT as well. When McCabe became a pariah in late Dec, Hillary favourite Maggie Haberman and Adam Goldman did a “future of the FBI” which seems to have been heavily sourced to Bowdich.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/22/us/politics/fbi-director-president-trump.html

The article was careful to note that:

“Officials say that Mr. Wray is leaning toward promoting David L. Bowdich, currently the third ranking official in the bureau. He is well liked inside the F.B.I. and is seen as someone who was not part of Mr. McCabe’s inner circle.”

I’d say “sniper” Bowdich has the elite of the Swamp media eating out of his hand.

Be skeptical of this swamp snake !

Remote speculation but I wonder if he's related to Nathaniel Bowdich of Practical Navigator fame?

I’m surprised the FBI didn’t hire him as a sniper and that he wasn’t at Waco as one of their shooters.

To be fair, all the best candidates’ wives would probably divorce them for even submitting a resume for the job.

He’s getting a glowing report in WaPo and was selected by key coup figures. WaPo says it’s “expected” which is a narrative-setting phrase.

Sounds like this guy is trouble.

It would be better to leave the job vacant until everyone ha been vetted regarding the attempted coup d'etat.

That is a difference without a distinction.

In one you're getting paid and in the other you aren't. Big distinction there.

He was told to leave his office immediately and never return.

Was he now? McCabe's intention to retire in March was well known; he had stated as such last year. He could easily have enough accrued leave to carry him over to that date. Given that it's no mystery why he might decide to chuck it and leave now. Doesn't mean he was fired. Besides, do you know how hard it is to fire a civil servant with 20 years experience? Doesn't happen over night.

I don’t have much faith in the integrity of cops.

I had a guy who worked for me a few years ago. He was really lazy and I could not trust him to do an assigned job without screwing it up or sometimes even doing it at all. I spoke with our CEO and he gave me the OK to fire him.
When I called him in to my office to give him his walking papers, he beat me to the punch by informing me that he’d taken a job with the local police department and had been offered SWAT training and that this was his last day.

Bowdich apparently helped cover up the Tarmac meeting between Clinton and Lynch, so he is probably just another swamp creature.

You are being terribly disrespectful for those FBI types that are not members of the blackhats, the obama cabal.

The FBI should have been disbanded as an agency a couple of decades ago. Not enough integrity in the entire department to fill out a basketball team.
