So now Space Command, which I was once in, becomes the US Space Force.

Blue uniforms change to midnight black. Summer dress is silver-grey. Stripes are silver and slanted in a more modern style, with a Star Trek like center.

Ranks:

Spaceman Apprentice
Spaceman
Spaceman First Class
Senior Spaceman
Sergeant
Drone Sergeant
Missile Sergeant
Orbital Sergeant
Senior Orbital Sergeant
Chief Orbital Sergeant
Drone Leader
Missile Leader
Orbital Leader
Rocket Leader
Rocket Commander
Space Commodore
Space Brigidier
Space Admiral
Space General
SpaceLeader

How this will affect the US Air Force Space Command will be interesting

No different from when the U.S. Army gave birth to the Air Force.

Space Command will likely split off from the Air Force and become the nucleus of the new U.S Space Force.

China and others can wreck out lives if they started a real anti-satellite attack. Taking out GPS would cripple our financial system, for example because it relies on GPS timestamps to maintain proper and accurate transaction records. There are other implications that are also non-obvious but very bad. It’s not just about spy satellites, we civilians have become deeply dependent on space even if we don’t realize it.

OMG say what you will but Trump is the master.

He just threw a hornets nest right into the middle of the liberal Head Quarters. President Trump is going to weaponize the final frontier with a new branch of the US Military!

They will be scrambling trying to counter this the cries and moans from the left will make your ears bleed before this is settled!

Hahaha this is going to be fun!

Someone just sent me this.

Astronaut should be changed to Spaceman, and they recommend STARgeant instead of Sergeant.

Because we can keep pretending for another 50 years that space is not militarized, or we can finally acknowledge that it is, and do something about it.

The Air Force has a Space Command dedicated to that. What would a separate branch be able to do that they aren't?

In an age of modern communications and advanced robotics, a manned space presence is actually less important now than ever before.

In fact, the "manned" aspect of space travel is the single biggest weakness of the whole process. Look at the space shuttle, for example. The elements of the shuttle that were needed to safely deliver humans into space and then bring them back safely made the whole thing so unwieldy and cumbersome that it ended up being a very expensive (and ultimately dangerous) boondoggle.

So all those videos by George Noory and his interviews with former Area 51 employees that we actually HAVE US Marine spaceships “already built” was not some tin-foil story?

There are those who say such a force has been in service for years.

What would be the point of an entirely unmanned military presence in space? Keep the satellites in line?

"we will finally and officially have Space Cadets!"

So I guess third year students will be known as Junior Space Cadets.
