All, And, I am beginning to wonder if the junior Bush's "popularity" has just been shown to be VERY thin, and if the "Republicans" will retain control of the house. It is said that an "evil Democrat" is going to be the one in the Senate to filibuster this U.S. of A. destructive policy. Maybe there IS something to the "fruit doesn't fall far from the tree." statement. Peace and love, George.

You all expose yourselves more and more with your hyperbolic rantings.

Outstanding point. Imagine if we had these America haters in power 250 years ago. They would have closd the borders to George Washington!

I get so sick of this lame point. The reality of the situation is that when George Washington immigrated to this place there were no issues with overpopulated urban areas contributing to urban sprawl, no over-burdened utility infrastructures fighting for life in an era of enviromental activists (all leftists who want less power plants and more immigration, can't wait to see the resolution of THAT one!), and no welfare system for immigrants to turn to with their hands out while states all over the union are making budget cuts, laying off workers, and forcing schools to make huge cutbacks. (And I didn't even mention the issues of health drawbacks, such as immigrants bringing antibiotic-resistant TB and hepatitis with them - it wasn't an issue in the 1700's.)

The simple mind of a liberal refuses to face these facts and insists on reverting to the romantic theme of the hard-working, USA-loving immigrant who only wants to be a part of the American dream. I don't think that those of us with our minds and brains open see it that way anymore. In Iowa, immigrants move into meat-packing plant towns, trash out the neighborhoods they cluster in, and then start forming "activist groups" demanding bilingual education and more "rights." It's a racket.

The one thing it has taught me is the undeniable fact that 3rd world immigrants do not leave the 3rd world behind. It follows them and sets up residence right in our backyards. If leftists cannot see this, then I will add "blind" to the charge of "simple." Ugh!

Face it, we're being screwed by both parties. I vowed over a month ago to never support another Demopub or Republicrat and I won't.

I'm baffled that Ron Paul voted for this heinous treachery. He's know to be a firm Constitutionalist and he's from Texas. What was he thinking?

Just like the millions of Americans of who committed wrongful conduct by going faster than 55. Their "criminal" behavior was validated when the speed limit was raised.

Just using your logic to another everyday situation.

That's nonsense. Nobody refunded all the speeding tickets that were payed before the law was changed. Yes, the rules were changed, but before the change the rule was the rule, and after it changed, the rule was the rule. Simple.

CONGRESS IS THE PROBLEM . The only goal of ALL Senators and Congressmen is to keep their comfortable asses parked at the public's banquet table. Congress is a disgrace.

Have you met many Congressmen ? If you do, you will realize three things. Most of them are not too bright, they have a line of bullshit, and most are crooked.

. I'd take one immigrant who doesn't speak a word of English who creates a small business over 1000 socialist English professors

What about 1000 immigrants who are working for the Mexican drug cartels? The new candidate for Texas governor had a business that laundered money for Mexican drug lords, I don't think his supporters mind that at all.

Oh please, there will always be bad apples in every bunch, but that won't stop you from trying to smear all with a broad brush.

It's too bad you aren't this charitable with those who oppose your WOD stance.

"What an assine (asinine) statement. Increased demand for housing causes prices to rise."

Dane, VAA, my family witnessed the value of our six flats fall 60%, when the illegal aliens invaded our neighborhood. Crime of all kinds were perpetrated against the non-Mexican residents of the neighborhood to drive them out. All non-Mexicans were forced to cut their losses and move to the suburbs.

Individual neighborhoods and the entire country, as a whole, cannot absorb unlimited, uncontrolled illegal immigration, from anywhere. No nation on earth can.

Our borders need to be militarized and all immigration brought to a screeching halt until the INS has had sufficient time to remove everyone that doesn't have a legal right to be here.

The jobs being stolen by illegal aliens are not all low paying service industry jobs. We read, here, everyday about the illegal alien pilots, airport workers, military base workers, computer industry employees, restaurant owners, doctors, dentists and other professional and semi-professional laborers that are caught everyday.

The un-skilled or semi-skilled jobs stolen by other illegal aliens were once great jobs for high school and college students, that were willing to work their way through school. The wages paid, for these jobs, have been kept artificially low by illegal immigration. I worked many of these jobs, before I graduated.

Illegal immigration is not the victimless crime you two portray it to be. The average American Family loses $6,000 to $8,000 per year in lost income due to their wages being depressed by the availability of cheaper, illegal alien laborers. Add to that, the additional tax burden placed on us all to pay for the additional education, social and law enforcement services required by these illegals and you have crime being perpetrated against the American Family that's unprecedented in our Nation's history.

What gives with you two?

I understand where you're coming from. Now I see immigrants every day. Many don't speak English at all. But they work hard and have traditional values. You saw how the Cubans in Miami destroyed Gore's attempts to recount away the election. They are true Americans! What about some white guy who watches tv all day while waiting for his welfare check? What can we do-he's an American citizen and we have to pay for his irresponsible behavior. What about those students who burn the flag and protest the war? Guess what-we pay for their student loans because they are American citizens. But what have they done for America besides being born here? They don't have to do anything!

I can't fantham the reason for this, either, but there is something I find very confusing: The three most conservative house members I know (Tom Delay, Ron Paul, and Lamar Smith--all of Texas) voted for this. What's with that? The only thing I can figure is that these three have either taken leave of their senses, or I'm looking at this thing in the wrong light.

I wish they would come forward and explain themselves.

because they are coming from the libertarian side of conservatism or the family values side (don't break up families while the INS is reviewing their residency status)
