Given the carping and nasty nature of FR as of late, I thought it might be a good time to see the more civil and gracious side of participants. Here is a thread for just that purpose – to edify, encourage, and thank.

Ever wanted to thank that unsung FR hero? Agree or disagree, why not tell JohnHuang2 or Registered how much you appreciate their skills. And can you imagine the many hours Alamo-Girl puts into her work? Perhaps you appreciate how well the folks over at Word For The Day wield their words. Or maybe you just want to tell WIMom and her gang that you’re sorry for all your unkind words about the recent Freepathon ads, and thank her for all her hard work on that. Maybe you are an FR Radio fan. Well, you get the idea.

What this thread is NOT for: complaints against the management, flaming those you disagree with, bashing the current administration, leaving your opus, whinning about someone being banned, criticizing FR spelling, grammar, or sentence structure, calling out newbies (unless they are disrupting this thread, of course), shilling for your candidacy, carping about a particular regular thread. Well, you get the idea.

P.S. No, I’m not fishing for compliments. I’ve already been called every name in the book here on FR, and “toothless hag” is still my personal favorite.

First, I want to thank JimRob for the great site.

I also want to thank you, annie, for starting Word For the Day and tolerationg us for so long, and now Rika for taking it over and continuing the tolerance whilst sifting through FReepmails of "You people are dumb", and "Can you tell your participants to tone it down".

Thanks to riley1992, OPH, dub, xs, and all my SPG buds for making me laugh and having fun with me on some threads that get pulled pretty quick (like the semen thread from the other day).

Thank you Howlin for making me smile and being so darn polite in the face of being called a Bushbot.

And of course, thanks to my baby, StoneColdGOP...because meeting you on FR was the best thing that happened to me!

Once FR starts producing original content, I may never look at another media outlet again. Thanks to all those I've learned from, argued against, goofed around with, etc. since '97. All hyperbole aside, I think this is the most important political website on the Web.

I appreciate the Admin Moderator for putting up with us all. Some times I read that someone claims that the Admin Moderator made this or that mistake. Well, every ref makes mistakes. Fact is, you couldn't pay me enough to do that job. So, just like the sportsters say for referees, I hereby declare this weekend the "Admin Moderator is Always Right" weekend! rock on!! And if your posting is deleted this weekend, just raise your hand like they do in basketball and say, "It was me."

I don't keep a list, so if someone feels slighted I take full reposibility ;o)

I thank each and every one of you for the conversations, and for the discussions, and yes even the arguments. Some of you I yak with privately, or share my prayers, or defend my views of our Constitution and what makes our country great. We've discussed everything, from Prayer threads, fundraisers, Ronald Reagan and W, the War for Southern Independence to a late-night scramble to locate a missing race fan, a downed plane near China, freeping the dims and everything in between. Cheese, meese and All you base are belong to me. We've had fun and enjoyed life.

It's a mixture of folks that have common beliefs - from a wonderful retiree in Alabama that I intend to meet, along with a friend in North Carolina and and a brother and sister in Christ in Texas, and even a Dish Head hiding out! Others are from Wisconsin and points North and west, and one down south I will call when I get my CJ. One or two have left, and I miss them.

Whatever we have shared or argued about I wouldn't trade for the world. My friend from Texas I thank you for your words of encouragement, my friends from Florida - the best to you and new members of your families. Those that I argue with I do respect - I might not agree with your views, but I value your friendship none the less.

Ms. Davis, I would hope that one day I can share a mint julep with you and the President. Deo vindice.
