A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

~ ~ FREEDOM'S WORTH IT ! ! ! ~ ~ by LadyX
Those early colonists who established the concept of a land free from England's harsh and restrictive rule surely kept that cry in mind!
From Lexington to Concord - from Trenton to Valley Forge - Charleston to Savannah, and echoing in the halls in Philadephia where the Continental Congress was shaped; men who crafted the birth of a Republic kept the idea foremost in their minds.
More than 200 years later, we still repeat the cry; America a bright and shining star among the nations of the world.
One of our Free Republic members chose that screen name to denote her own beliefs - that a nation dedicated to God and His principles could grow and prosper.
It is with enormous pride that today we present and honor our very own Freedom'sWorthIt !!!
Freedom'sWorthIt
Member since August 7, 1998
Knowing of my long association with Freedom'sWorth it, Billie asked for my help with the lead-in. Nothing could please me more, being privileged to meet in her in person in November 1998. In Charlotte, North Carolina we had a gathering of CAROLINA Freepers, FWI traveling from Raleigh, NC and I from South Carolina to attend.
Our friendship grew and deepened through e-mail and Freep mail, both of us Christian and committed to promoting a conservative America.
She was among those who attended the 1998 March of Justice in Washington, D.C. She is one of THE most compassionate, passionate and well-spoken among our many Freepers. Her expressions on a broad range of subjects are without fail from the heart and beautifully articulated.
It is with pleasure that I add first my own recognition to you, Freedom'sWorthIt!
My thanks to you, LadyX, for being our Guest Writer today; I knew you would do a beautiful tribute, for I've seen the expressive way you have with words. You know that you'll be called upon again!
My thanks to you, FWI, for all that you do and all that you are.....you are truly one of FR's Finest, and I hope you enjoy your day in the !

Actually, I need to turn in, too, but I'll tidy up the place before I go.
Anyone coming in is welcome to leave a note for Freedom'sWorthIt, and to help themselves to some of the sandwiches and leftover cookies (that I surely did not bake), and coffee or milk - - -
(Tiptoe, though, since Mama_Bear is in hibernation and might be grouchy if disturbed..:))

(Tiptoe, though, since Mama_Bear is in hibernation and might be grouchy if disturbed..:)) LOL! I heard that. :-)
Sorry, I haven't been around much today, but I will be here tomorrow for sure.
Freedom'sWorthIt, I hope you have enjoyed your day in the spotlight. You are one of FR's Finest!
To: JustAmy; All
You've got me cracked up with that one!
Good night, all!
To: Freedom'sWorthIt
Sorry I am so late to honor you! I had to go to a dinner tonight! I hope you enjoyed being featured on the Finest thread today!
You are one of the nicest freepers, and we all so appreciate you!
Thanks for all you contribute here, and hope you at least see this tomorrow! LOL
To: The Mayor; All
So happy to hear of your safe arrival to Virginia...We have missed you and our daily cuppa....
THREAD FOR WEDS.
To: Billie; Freedom'sWorthIt
Thank you, dear Billie. You know I have always admired you...one of the first and friendliest FReepers to welcome me to Free Republic and help me out with the html!
Congratulations, Freedom'sWorthIt! What a wonderful history you have here! I wish I'd been around for that historic March on Washington. It will be wonderful to find you in the forum now - I feel like I know you already, and I know, too, that we share the same values and hopes for this great nation. Freedom *is* worth it!
To: The Mayor
Good to hear of your safe journey. Hope Virginia treats you well. (I know it will). If not, you are really close to our little bit of heaven in North Carolina.... :-)
To: .30Carbine; ladyinred
Good morning - going over to see today's Freeper highlight - but wanted to say - thanks for your kind remarks - feel like I know both of you also.
Now - on over to today's thread!
See ya there!
To: Freedom'sWorthIt
I am so sorry I missed this yesterday (I should learn to check my freepmail more often)! Congratulations on an honor well-deserved, and thanks for being my friend. FR is a much better place because you are here!
To: LadyX
So...Meekie.... You're a Heinz variety like all good little doggies?...:)))
LOL
LOL! Reminds me of a silly joke I made up a long time ago.
You better sit down, this is bad!:
Did you hear about the Cowboy that had a Dachshund for his roundup dog?
Somebody asked him why he had a weinie dog instead of a regular cow dog?
His reply was "The song says 'get a long little doggie', and so I did !"
boo! hiss! lol !
To: MeeknMing; SpookBrat; SassyMom
No-NO!!! NOT
"boo! hiss!" It brought my first morning laugh, Meekie...:)))
Sometimes the simplest, absurd ones can be the funniest.
Now I'll be humming "Get a long, little doggie, get a long" all day!

The problem lies in the Time Zone difference, with us East Coasters fading before you could see the hail...:))
Freedom'sWorthIt, no doubt, had to be at work today, so needed to leave before midnight.
She was so diligent about being here during the day and evening to answer all the so-deserved comments.
Just as she inspires us all to be our best, you and all the Fresno Freepers set the standard for translating words into action.
While I don't often comment, I am in awe of your dedication to week after week, make a difference in America!

How delighted I am to read of your safe arrival, TM!!
You had a lot of prayer backup from your many friends here, you know.
If I may be flippant, I heard God saying, "All right, already!
I AM handling this one!"..:)))
The bad part was, as co-hostess yesterday, I had to drink my own coffee...:((
Don't ever make a long move again and generate so many complaints from the coffee-drinkers!

"Freedom'sWorthIt, no doubt, had to be at work today"
You would be right about that, M!
Miss Marple - no problemo - thanks for stopping by TODAY! And one day, with some studied practice, maybe I will be able to refute all the attackers - out there and in here sometimes - as well as you do. Your posts are ALWAYS on target!
Trusting your day started out well today, LadyX, better than yesterday?
Meekn - LOL - getalong little doggie indeed! :-)
