Sawgrass Rebellion Comes to Life This Friday.
PRAC, Free Republic ^ | 10-14-02 | aaabest

Posted on 10/14/2002 6:59:24 AM PDT by AAABEST

Date: Friday, October 18th (Homestead on the 19th)
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Place: 18th Ave SE, Naples Florida (map)
Program: Live music, food, speakers, auctions, yard sale.

Larry Pratt, President of Gun Owners of America, and J.J. Johnson C.E.O. and Editor in Chief of The Sierra Times  are the latest additions to our lineup of those who will be speaking at the event. Our local radio station will be broadcasting from the premises and there will be a strong media presence including television, print and broadcast.

The Jarbridge Shovel Brigade and the Klamath Bucket Brigade will be there in force, after traveling thousands of miles and putting their lives on hold. They've spent thousands of dollars of their own money to make this happen. Their reward being the satisfaction of helping their neighbors and trying to make our country a better place to live. They put their money where their mouth is and it's up to us not to let them down.

After the Friday event, we will gather Saturday for a convoy across alligator alley to head to Homestead where farmers and homeowners are being intentionally flooded by out of control , un-elected and unaccountable government agencies who have plans to bulldoze large portions of their community, in direct violation of congressional legislation as defined in NEPA.  No exaggeration here folks. This is well documented and yes, it really is happening in your country

The property rights movement is growing by the day. Don't miss this opportunity to push back at the enviro-barons in our government and elsewhere who use the environment as a club in an attempt mercilessly smash our neighbors, our constitution, our way of life and our conservative voting blocks out of existence. They told us to build it and they would come. We built it, the rest is up to you.

How you can help.

1. First and foremost, SHOW UP and bring everybody you can with you. Take an early vacation, or a one day fly-in. Failure is not an option. If the Brits can bring over 400,000 to their Fox Hunting rally, we can do the same. Show the world what we're made of.

2. If you can't show up, tell everyone you know about this. Spread the good news. Ping this thread to everyone, email your lists whatever. You know what to do, spread the word.

3. Write to our politicians. HERE you'll find a list of all the politicians who are involved in this. Be polite but firm. FReep the hell out of these guys. Communities are being run over in a wholesale fashion, we must put a stop to this.

4. Donate to the cause. Unfortunately the enemies of your kin's future have billions of private money, and billions of your tax dollars to use against you. We must in able to fight back. You can also join PRAC or buy some Sawgrass Rebellion souvenirs.

5. Last but probably most important, use your God given talents to help. You are dynamic and powerful and are capable of accomplishing much.

This is a major FReep event. Here are just some of the FReepers who will be there:

Seeking the Truth - President of the Florida chapter of Free Republic. He will be selling his stamps and has made one for the Sawgrass Rebellion.

Conservative - Bill Ames, journalist and VIP for the Citizens for a Sound Economy.  Who have fully  backed the SGR from the beginning. He's riding with the convoy as we speak.

nunya bidness - Journalist for the Sierra Times.

Fearless Flyers - Owner of Fearless Flyers Kites. He has made a custom Sawgrass Rebellion Silk kite for the event. If you haven't seen his work, these things are pure silk and absolutely beautiful.

Issaquahking - traveling with the convoy.

sauropod - Longtime FReeper, land rights activist and member of the FR network.

Joe Brower - Founder of the California chapter of the Tyranny Response Team (TRT) and all around great guy.

TonyWojo - Member of PRAC and one of the organizers of the event.

AAABEST - Member of PRAC and one of the organizers of the event.

My Favorite Headache - Activist and FReeper. Helped run Jesse Jackson out of West Palm Beach during the 2000 election coup attempt by Algore.

Just a few of the other dedicated FReepers who will be there:
Teacher317
BOBTHENAILER
Beach_Babe
dorben
Prodigal Daughter
Nayt2
Eustace

I appreciate all the efforts that have gone into the rebellion and can't wait to be able to thank everyone in person on Friday.

Triple A, you are the BEST! What a terrific job you did on this announcement. Tell our friend JJ Johnson hello for us. What an incredible speech he gave at Klamath Falls last year. I'll always regret not getting it on tape. It was unrehearsed and perfect and from the heart.

Farmfriend, what a pleasure to read your great post tonight. I wish everyone in this country could have an ounce of your reverence for our history, our intertwined destinies, and our freedoms. You made me so proud... And a big BUMP for all of you on the convoy! Our hearts are with you.

Living In A Convoy
10/14/02
By Diana Wunderle

It would not be possible to describe the convoy, without listing a few of the tremendous rewards and satisfaction in knowing that we are making a difference. We are reminded of this at every rally, in every interview, and by others we meet.

We enjoyed the hospitality of Linda and Stanley Barons, who opened their gracious and beautiful Colorado home to the entire convoy for a night. Frank cooked breakfast for everyone the following morning, and we sat at the table chatting merrily, until it was time to go. Thank you, Linda and Stanley. You are in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers.

Similarly, Rocky Dippel's zingers, Frank and Peggy Wallace's gentle warmth, Barbara Hall buzzing around, Bill Ransom's quiet encouragement, Kehn Gibson's intense ambition, and Pat's whacked sense of humor have served as daily bread.

Bill and Lynette Ames, of Texas have revitalized our road weary crew with energy and enthusiasm, and joined the convoy in Jackson, Mississippi. We also welcome the arrival of Danny Nielson of the Klamath Bucket Brigade, and Grant Knowles.

We will all remember the people we have met, and the struggles they face with all the courage as they can muster. We carry with us, the hope of those who dare, and dreams of those who will not surrender hope. We will continue to be inspired by the commitment of more recent immigrants to this country, who we have encountered.

It would not be possible to tell of the experience of living in a road convoy, without giving the reader a some understanding of the challenges. The hours and pace are grueling. If I weren't a volunteer, I'd quit. If I weren't a volunteer, I'd have been fired by now. We try to be pleasant, when we want to explode. We laugh our way through one comedy of errors, and grit our teeth through the next. We start at 5-7:00 a.m., and "hit it" until the wee hours of the next morning. Each convoy crew member has three jobs to do. We can sometimes collectively determine which state we are in. We are a team with a goal, and many objectives. Reality television comes to mind… 30 days, eight or ten individuals, difficult circumstances, close quarters, high levels of determination and stress. But there's another element that makes this unlikely concoction work… called resolve.

We have seen a lot of despair, confusion, fear, and defeatism. People have asked, in disbelief, if we really believe we can change anything. My answer is always the same. Of course we can affect change. Every day more communities and property owners, rural and urban alike, are threatened. This is why we convoy.

The convoy is an experience unlike any other. It is an adventure rich with discovery. It is a pleasure to stand between tradition and the future, amid people from every culture and place on earth, in the spirit of unity, with respect for individuality.

It is equally frustrating to realize that some folks just don't 'get it.' We watch them casually dismiss the facts and walk away, unconcerned. We hope and pray these people will wake up before it's too late; before we are called upon to convoy into their community in a last ditch effort to avert the loss of everything they have worked for. Yet, we take pride in knowing that should that call come we will be there, because we are committed to the preservation of constitutional and property rights for every American. This is democracy, at work. Our record is one of peaceful and equitable resolution and honoring commitment. We expect no less of our elected officials.

"There are hidden contradictions in the minds of people who "love Nature" while deploring the "artificialities" with which "Man has spoiled 'Nature.'" The obvious contradiction lies in their choice of words, which imply that Man and his artifacts are not part of "Nature" -- but beavers and their dams are. But the contradictions go deeper than this prima-facie absurdity. In declaring his love for a beaver dam (erected by beavers for beavers' purposes) and his hatred for dams erected by men (for the purposes of men) the "naturist" reveals his hatred for his own race -- i.e., his own self hatred.

In the case of "Naturists" such self-hatred is understandable; they are such a sorry lot. But hatred is too strong an emotion to feel toward them; pity and contempt are the most they rate.

As for me, willy-nilly I am a man, not a beaver, and H. sapiens is the only race I have or can have. Fortunately for me, I like being part of a race made up of men and women -- it strikes me as a fine arrangement and perfectly "natural."

Believe it or not, there were "Naturists" who opposed the first flight to old Earth's Moon as being "unnatural" and a "despoiling of Nature."

Lazarus Long

Words to ponder......

Take good care of Grant Gerber. We will need him back in Nevada. Of that I'm sure!

Larry says you're a little ball of fire, and he sends his love and prayers for your husband.

It was funny to see "AuntB" on his little palm pilot thingy.
