Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

Thanks for the update Tonk and for sharing the pictures with us. He looks so content in his playpen there among his pals. What a sweetie he is! Praise be to God for Baby Logan's progress!! Continued prayers for Logan and his family.

I'm SO happy for all of you!!!

Even THOUGH the child won't be born on a day honoring the Navy or Coast Guard. Sigh. But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. BIG sigh.

:-)

We're COUNTING on you coming back here to announce the arrival, right????

What kinda example are you setting for our little guy?!

Not having the time on my hands that you Marine-types do, I shant (shan't?) answer your whole rant comment to me....but know this. I'm teaching the boy how to be a man. My Daddy's a REAL man. A man's man. You know, one of them. (why that has anything to do with anything I don't know but hey.)

I shall return in a few hours. CALIFORNIA TIME. The Real Time. Not The East Coast Time. THE REAL TIME. We, after all, DUMPED DAVIS!!!

WHATEVER YOU DO, don't put an "X" at the end of the baby's name.....it'll make him/her look mighty suspicious.

hehe

..................and not only THAT, Missy...there's more water than land.

Aha!

Dispute THAT fact. The Navy is by FAR more important.

"I shall return in a few hours. CALIFORNIA TIME. The Real Time. Not The East Coast Time. THE REAL TIME. We, after all, DUMPED DAVIS!!!"

(Lord - forgive me for what I am about to do. Thank You in advance.)

Surely you knew that would generate a Swoop In Opening for the following:

We here in the Deep South would never have ELECTED a Davis, and have to go to all that trouble and expense to get rid of him!!

Hahahahaha - look at it this way.
The sun rises in the East.
I am on the East Coast.
I, therefore, am always a whole step ahead of you in this life!!

Logan is safely tucked in Texas, with lots of Real Men there like TC to guide him - a good Marine, of course. That boy will call cadence before he sings, "Mary had a little lamb," I wager..:))

"Dare I suggest "Parris" as a name for a girl?"

"Oh, no. Every time I'd say her name I'd think of France."

Let me help you out there.

Let "Pendleton" roll off your tongue!
Now....that name would be so appropriate for either a boy OR a girl!

(Or we could go with, "Twenty-Nine Palms"...)

Alas, BG, I have to agree with you about that....

That's the reason the Marines have to have a water taxi service to get to the action.

"..there's more water than land. The Navy is by FAR more important."

YAWN...typical CA/Navy logic.

FACT: Today's Terrorists/Uglies of the World do not reside on the water.
(Marines, of course, have been known to walk on water, if necessary.)

True, the Navy is sometimes necessary to drive us to the action, but you cannot get one of those huge ships to cruise over the deserts of Iraq or up the mountains in Afghanistan!!

That requires sand-eating, non-complaining determined types like our Devil Dogs to do the hard parts, alongside the Army.

The Navy lazes out there on the Big Water, polishing those Big Guns and weaving baskets or sumpin'..:))

Don't you worry - betcha Uncle TC croons The Marine Corps Hymn to Little Logan already, instead of Anchors Aweigh.....that little guy is in good hands!

"betcha Uncle TC croons The Marine Corps Hymn to Little Logan already,"

Actually, Logan already hums the Marine Corps Hymn in his sleep.
I've been working on his cadence calling.

I don't know any of the new "politically correct" ones, so I've been teaching him the old, "Hey, little Jodie boy", verses.
I have to wait until his mommy and grandmommy are out of the room, though.

Glad you're here, TC, because I did a bit of recon on Mrs NavyBratChild.

You know this huge campaign she has to SAVE THE DOG in Logan's crib?

Checked out her Profile Page, and there in great big letters is THIS:

SAVE THE BEAR!!!!

Can't have it both ways, BG,
unless you are truly a 'conflicted' individual...:)

Which one is to be saved? HUH, HUH???

The whale? The dolphin? Durned if I know! Check my tag line.......it's CERTAINLY not that bird....

As to your CHILDISH behavior regarding the Marines, I'm at a loss for words.

And THAT took some doing.

I VIL BE BACH!

Perhaps as a middle name, Joe??

Actually, I told my wife that if it's a girl I wanted dibs on the middle name. Primarily because of my brain tumor diagnosis over two years ago, if it's a girl the middle name is going to be either Hope, Faith or Grace. And yes, BG, I will put up an announcement as soon as I'm able, complete with a pictures. For various reasons it might not be until Friday, though.

CONGRATULATIONS to you for Monday (I think)~~
I have had 2 c-sections!
Was a piece of cake!
REALLY! Didn't have all of the major muscle soreness I had heard about or problems walking up and down stairs or anything like that!
(no I am NOT in shape...maybe that was the reason..no muscles to BE sore LOL)
It will be Such a GREAT day!
1 little thought....
It is hard to "scoot" yourself back up in the bed and your behind gets sore...so if some nice husband pushes on the bottom of your feet so you can scoot back up in the hospital bed it is REALLY nice! (sounds like a little thing but it is really so nice)
Just a thought!
M0sby!
Have a GREAT day!

Also.. in my family...we had to talk about all kinds of goofy MARINE names like:
Chesty Puller (sp?)
Wouldn't that sound nice on a tiny baby!

(not that any of mine were too tiny...one at 9lbs 13oz and the other at 8 lbs 14 oz..)
