Recently, we received a FReepmail asking why we do the Canteen Music Dedication and how do we choose the music. Well, we'd  like to take this opportunity to tell all of you reading this out there. The music dedication just began as a regular post last year. It was never intended to become a weekly thread, but things change and now we have a Canteen Music Dedication. The Canteen Deejays (Tonkin, Ma, and MoJo) strive to bring you as much variety as possible. We hope that everyone enjoys the music. It gives the younger generation an opportunity to listen to music their parents may listen to and vice versa. It also allows each person the opportunity to listen to music that they would not have listened to normally. It's a "broadening of your horizons" so to speak. Most importantly, this music dedication is for our troops and their families. Not all the music will be to each person's liking, but that isn't the point. The point is to offer a broad spectrum of music to meet the broad spectrum of our troops' musical taste. How do we choose the music? We wish we could tell you that it takes a sophistication that requires a Standard Operation Procedure to understand. If you know us by now, you will know we aren't that complicated. Quite frankly, we are too lazy to put that much stress into it. We make MoJo do something useful and make her listen to the radio and listen to MTV. She reports back and then we go from there. NOT! Actually, it's whatever goes with the music dedication. That's the simple truth. Sorry to disappoint anyone who thought we stress out doing this. We don't! We love doing it!
