No wait....your getting confused. It’s Mary who told St. Catherine that she, St. Catherine, became the wife of Christ so then I don’t know where that leaves the “church” who is the “bride of Christ”. Either way it looks like we have a case of polygamy going on.

Not too surprised at your ping Arthur .....Yes this did make me sad.. When scripture tells us we can go directly to the throne of grace...that people would choose instead to go to people with hallucinations, heroes in folk tales, and charlatans.

Come to Christ our one mediator ... Come boldly to the throne for mercy and grace !

According to Scripture, all saved people are Saints.

To me, there is no credibility in what is written in that article.

yeah, I hate it when educated nobel laureates describe their eyewitness accounts of events....you almost have to believe them ......or appear REALLY STUPID....we don't want that now, do we???

Demonic. Satan is the prince of the power of the air and can do miraculous works

He can even devise a way to establish thousands of ?????denominations to act against the church that Christ established.....very sad, but true.

Anyone who respects this pope, has no business calling themselves a Freeper. Anyone who doesn't follow the Catholic church has no right to call themselves a Christian.....

Hey, don't forget that "other Christ" er vicar of Christ. I think scripture refers to him as anti Christ doesn't it?

Anyone who doesn't follow the Catholic church has no right to call themselves a Christian...

And there's the fundamental problem with catholicism. Following a church instead of following Christ. There is a difference.

Satan quoted as "eat or touch and you will die"

I've not found this in the Bible. What I found is Genesis 3:1-7:

The Fall of Man

1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made.

He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"

4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman.
5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

The rest of your post is interesting, but the logic you've laid out is confusing to me and my limited understanding.

Thanks for trying to help me out by answering the questions in my post.

I thought Catholics called Mary the *Spouse of the Holy Spirit*....

So she's the daughter of God, the mother and wife of Jesus and the wife of the Holy Spirit?

I guess that, to you, Jesus was just some radical, hippie rabblerouser who died, and that was that, until some cultists started claiming he was the Son of God.

Not sure what direction your sarcasm is pointed in but it doesn’t much matter to me either way. I just choose to grain-of-salt this whole article.

There’s simply no way that anyone can figure out how you got from.....

“I thought Catholics called Mary the *Spouse of the Holy Spirit*.... So she’s the daughter of God, the mother and wife of Jesus and the wife of the Holy Spirit?”

to......

“I guess that, to you, Jesus was just some radical, hippie rabblerouser who died, and that was that, until some cultists started claiming he was the Son of God.”

>> Satan quoted as "eat or touch and you will die"

>I've not found this in the Bible. What I found is Genesis 3:1-7:

My apologies, my aim was off. It was Eve who misquoted God about the touching in Genesis 3:3. Before that, the snake's misquote was in Genesis 3:1 "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?". Satan misquoted God and then Eve corrected the misquote, but misquoted God herself.

It makes me wonder with Adam and Eve, who added the touching restriction. Did Adam add the restriction when he taught Eve? Did Eve add the restriction when she was challenged by the snake?

Satan tried the same tactic with Jesus, but Jesus defended himself by correctly quoting and interpreting the scriptures.

Catechism in the true faith is important.

About the rest of my logic, I am not impressed with reports of miracles and wonders. I understand the faith and would not change my mind because of a miracle.

With my cynical nature, I would be more likely to think a miracle was demonic in order to lead me away. What need does faith have of miracles? Doubting Thomas needed to see and touch, but blessed are those who don't see and still believe.

As a non-religious person, Catholocism is the one subset of Christianity that most resembles idolatry.

Thanks for that clarifying post. Fwiw, my aim is rarely as true as I'd like it to be and my perfectionist nature gets me into constant trouble, so no apology needed with me.

However, I do understand cynicism and a doubting Thomas nature. It's hard for me to view current and past American and world politics, or human nature and behavior for that matter, without a healthy dose of both.

However, I am more like a child with regard to miracles and the supernatural have come to accept the many Biblical miracles, from the talking donkey to Jonah and the whale, as written, with no doubts or need to test God any more.

I realize that statement might be a bit naive, but I'm okay with that. God is limitless to me and I know He has never stopped sending His prophets to us nor stopped His miracles.

These last few years have changed my perspective and moved my point of view to a different place where the view is better. Now I can see things more clearly than before.

I also know this spot is nowhere near the best view, just better than my old one.

Thanks again for what you've posted.

Why would Satan do miracles that people then believe are proof of God and strengthen their faith and belief in God? Seems like that would work against him and his own interests. Why would Satan do that?

Who knows?

DECEPTION perhaps???!!!
