I’m perfectly happy to allow you your own way of believing and interpreting.

As long as I am silent about it?

No thanks.

LOL! Very clever how you engineer the maintenance of your ‘innocence’; while your posts clearly indicate all the ways in which you interpret others as WRONG and stand as indictments of their ‘apostasy’.

We aren’t living two thousand years ago in a limited community of the ancient Near East - and Christianity isn’t, either. Christianity has evolved and been adapted into many different sects and ways of understanding. Most of these are good, and do good in the world and for the people who follow them.

And I’m not expecting you or anyone to be ‘silent’. There is a way to express one’s own belief and interpretation, joyfully, with love; and without implicitly condemning those of others.

Your posts often remind me of a quote by Mencken: “The urge to save humanity is almost always a false-face for the urge to rule it.”

Show the jury the evidence you have.

Methinks thou doth protest too much.

I hear ya...

Matthew 15:16
"Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them.

Matthew 23

  1.  Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
  2.  "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.
  3.  So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
  4.  They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
  5.  "Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries  wide and the tassels on their garments long;
  6.  they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;
  7.  they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them `Rabbi.'
  8.  "But you are not to be called `Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers.
  9.  And do not call anyone on earth `father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
 10.  Nor are you to be called `teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.
 11.  The greatest among you will be your servant.
 12.  For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
 13.  "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
 14.  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
 15.   "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
 16.  "Woe to you, blind guides! You say, `If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.'
 17.  You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?
 18.  You also say, `If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.'
 19.  You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred?
 20.  Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.
 21.  And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it.
 22.  And he who swears by heaven swears by God's throne and by the one who sits on it.
 23.  "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
 24.  You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.
 25.  "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
 26.  Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
 27.  "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!  You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.
 28.  In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
 29.  "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous.
 30.  And you say, `If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.'
 31.  So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.
 32.  Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!
 33.  "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?
 34.  Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.
 35.  And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.
 36.  I tell you the truth, all this will come upon this generation.
 37.  "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.
 38.  Look, your house is left to you desolate.
 39.  For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, `Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.' "

Mark 7:26-27
 26.  The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.
 27.  "First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."

And St. Paul chimes in...

Galatians 5:12
As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

Well, there you go again. You post like a machine, and are predictably ‘dull’ yourself - and I’ve reached my boredom threshold, now.

Good Night! (I hope to dream about the ‘the meek, the merciful, the pure of heart, and the peacemakers’.)

So: you think you’re Jesus, now?

(And I don’t think Jesus himself thought that He was ‘saving the World’. He was trying to save *individuals*.)

You post like a machine,

Why thank you!

Perhaps tomorrow; after a good nights rest; you may gather about you those 'meek, merciful, pure of heart, and the peacemakers’ and then show all of the ERRORS you have found in the content of my posts.

Sweet dreams...

Please.  If you are going to try to correct me; at LEAST read the Book before hand!

John 12:44-50 English Standard Version (ESV)

44 And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”

"...you and I have got to emancipate ourselves from these little picayunish ideas of the universe, and know that God, Spirit, is Infinite Love and Intelligence, Wisdom and Power, and that is enough.

You and I may worship this God as we see fit. Your manner of approaching the Deity may be entirely different from mine and might be the best way. You might get a greater sense of the touch of the Divine Hand if you went to a certain place and worshiped in a certain way. If you say it is good, that is good. Somebody else might do it by fishing, etc. It is good. There are no churches and church times for the universal God; there is just simply I AM, and there is not anything else. And so let every living soul forget what individuals do and how they attempt to reach God, and mind their own affairs, just reach God within themselves.”

After all, the TITLE is:

They are based on what church members believe was a revelation from God to founder Joseph Smith in 1833.

Perhaps Nelson should pester GOD like these guys did about blacks.

He has heard our prayers, and by revelation has confirmed that the long-promised day has come when every faithful, worthy man in the Church may receive the holy priesthood, with power to exercise its divine authority, and enjoy with his loved ones every blessing that flows therefrom, including the blessings of the temple. Accordingly, all worthy male members of the Church may be ordained to the priesthood without regard for race or color. Priesthood leaders are instructed to follow the policy of carefully interviewing all candidates for ordination to either the Aaronic or the Melchizedek Priesthood to insure that they meet the established standards for worthiness.

We declare with soberness that the Lord has now made known his will for the blessing of all his children throughout the earth who will hearken to the voice of his authorized servants, and prepare themselves to receive every blessing of the gospel.

Sincerely yours,

... and prepare themselves to receive every blessing of the gospel...

...except COFFEE!!!

New research by FAIRLDS has turned up unshakeable evidence that what the world knows as; the genus Coffea - part of the botanical family Rubiaceae; was growing in the MIDDLE of the garden; right next to the ToKoG&E!!

Some LDS scientists believe that THIS was the thing that Eve partook of, and gave to Adam.

Further research into this matter is generously being supplied by the Babylon Bee.

Years ago I had a friend that was a Mormon. They are great people. Just mixed up on their beliefs. She would question things in her faith (being a single, older woman - that was easy for her to do), and I would reply honestly - but politely and with love, with various Biblical scriptures that showed why I thought the Mormon positions were in error - and that God doesn’t “change His mind”.

I’m glad that was 40 years ago. It would be a lot harder to justify some of the “Christian” views on homosexual and transsexual behaviors of today.
